Front end wobble - thoughts???

Hey guys,

My bike has developed a bit of a front end wobble when I hit a certain speed. The race head bearings are fine, the tyres themselves are fine so I am thinking wheel balancing.

Getting that checked today but has anybody else experienced this?

at 100mph she is fine, at 110 it starts to feel a bit wobbly at 120 it just wants to throw me off.

Yes Yes I know that I shouldn't riding that quick but am doing a track day in a few weeks so want to ensure she is safe.

Cheers

Wheel Bearings, swing arm.
Hopefully it's just the ballancing.
Good luck with that and you'll have to post a report about the trackday to let us know how it went now that you've told us

OK, tyre might look fine but what make/model is it?? matched to the rear??

have you dropped the forks thru or got a spacer on the rear??

Bet the tyres are Dunlops!!

I had exactly the same issue on mine ON TRACK with 208GP's on but it completely disappeared once I put Rennsports on it
Never had the issue on the road with BRidgestones and Pirelli's on it

My exact thinking Ben  my first storm was just the same on dunlops at about 100, that was on std suspension but with the forks dropped 6mm and a 6mm shock spacer fitted. Got a bit un-nerving at Donington :? and was very scary at Pembrey 8O

Current storm with 6mm dropped and rogered forks, 6mm shock spacer and pilot powers is far more stable than it was with 207GP's 8)

UPDATE!!!!

Well took the wheel down to my local tyre place and the mechanic was a bike racer and all round good chap.

He said the wheel was out of balance by about 15g which would be enough to give her a wobble.

Took her home and tested on quiet dual carriageway and it's all good up to about 150. After which I ran out of road :-)

Anyhow all good now and will let you all know about the trackday.

Cheers for the advice guys.
