Got the bearings for the creaking rear suspension when i came home tonight.
Went out to shed and started to reassemble the suspension components, bearings in, dust seals, in copperslip on various alloy/steel connection points.
Tightened up the linkage arm (wide end of alloy part to back of gerabox) to 59nm :) :) then go to do the linkage plate to swinging arm bolt, shown as 88nm in the Haynes manual. The young lad was holding a ratchet and allen socket to the left hand side and I am tightening up the nut.
I thought 88nm was a bit tight, but nevertheless started to torque it up, the bloody thing never tightened it just kept turning :x :x :x :x . Is that the correct torque setting or have i just got a crappy new nut and bolt from Mr Honda??????

I eagerly wait all piss takes and genuine replies.

Cheers

Aye, the front one to the gearbox, the hole for the allen head has no shoulders for it to tighten up to, it seats against the steel spacer.
It is the back one I am on about, under the swinging arm.
