We have a new set of cameras going up on a lot of the roads around here
There pointing towards one of the roundabouts that has just been changed with bus lane and traffic lights
Thing is I think there for traffic management but not sure as there’s a camera for each lane
They look to be about 14†wide by 6†high by 18†deep the really strange thing is there’s three apertures one large one in the middle and two smaller ones either side of it like there could be some form of detector fitted either now or later and they could be used for zapping speeders
There just plain silver
Only good thing is there pointing head on so no reg to clock on the bike
Just wondering if any one knows what there used for
fore told is fore armed

if its new road lay out in a rather busy area they probably are for traffic monitoring..
as some poor sod will have to re programme the traffic light cylcles to suit all affected roads near by.
and they can monitor the affects of the light cycle changes on the fly rather than wait till the brown stuff finds its way to a fan on a rather high speed.
( i used to work for a company that made traffic light controllers n digital speed cameras )
they might be a modern day version of this type of camera
but i could be totally wrong as i have been out the loop in this field for a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time..

Similar sort of layout but all in one box if you know what I mean
I’ll have to snap one some time
Just worried in case there to be used later as some new Gatos type thing
They have a habit of changing layouts and speeds on a road then a couple of weeks later putting speed cameras in and clawing back some of the costs in fines cynical bas***

well when you said the amount of lenses on them i thought of this type..
but this model is old as hell so they might be pimped modern versions of these..
what kind of height are they sat at and how many are there?
if they are very high up looking down they are more than likely for monitoring...
and as for the speed cameras..
if their have been 4 recorded accidents on a section of road they can apply to put a camera up.
and after watching one episode of top gear there was one put on a bridge and i think it was 2 maybe just 1 of the recorded accidents was some guy trying to kill himself by jumping off the bridge...

There was something on the TV the other night where a camera monitoring system was being put in place to record (using number plates) ALL traffic entering/leaving Manchester. This government wants to keep tabs on all British citizens in the interests of 'preventing crime' and 'anti-terrorism'. Senior police officers are confident it will 'help reduce crime' and 'improve security'. F*cking B*llocks, it's a police state in the making.

When George Orwell wrote 1984 it was a brilliant fictional novel, now it's an instruction manual for the British Government.
Surely all these cctv systems are an infringement on peoples civil liberty, I don't have an equity card and I haven't signed a release form for each and every use of my image, so why am I being filmed everyday against my wishes!!!

Yes sparrow
There's a set on the police station side of the roundabout just past them second set of lights. There in centre reservation
There’s a set on opposite side of lane facing up the hill towards brown hill just past Phillips road lights going towards brown hill
There’s also a set at eanam wharf facing the roundabout there all set at about 10-12 feet up in a rectangular stainless box
It’s just strange there’s a camera per lane
