Just renewed with Performance direct. Bennetts sent a renewal quote of £420 8O I just laughed and went online. Got it down to £198 with mods and legal protection but £600 excess 8O rang Bennetts to tell them to poke it and they came up with a £170 quote. Cos I was pissed at them told them they should have sent the lowest quote on the renewal form and to work the new quote up their ass
Really steams my clams when they try and dupe you

Yeah just remove it before you make a claim!

I haven't told them anything - I mean I'm not an expert. How am I supposed to know the belly pan and microns are not standard - I bought it from the dealer like that.

If I bought a car with an aftermarket exhaust or spoiler would I be expected to know this?

Balls

ermmm...im tempted :!: Have been ridin without declaring anything :!: Wanted to do it right this time cos
Thing is, sometimes its out of our hands,ie, last year was out with some mates, one of our party had head-on collision with another bike, both bikes written off, both bikers injured (not too seriously ).
Yer allways hoping it never happens, but in a situation like that, obviously no time to take bellypan off :!:
What would be the consequences, insurance void :?: Reduced payout :?: :?

Bennetts sponsor BSB on Eurosport.

They have to get the money from somewhere!

I'm with e-bike with both bikes on one policy and none of the mods have caused an increase - if you need to explain something, you can do it by e-mail.

I'm with E-Bike too :!: The best on-line site I've come across yet.

It's a personal thing I would say, but for me I like to do my best to inform them about my modifications just in-case the worst should happen :!: The last thing you want in a bad situation is too hear your insurance is void, only my opinion :!:

Will try e-bike again chris :)
Its the 1st time iv'e declared any mods,my daytona was standard :!:
Unreal the variation in prices im gettin, also no consistency with the underwriters,
Some wont entertain the brake hoses, with others its the belly-pan,another was the bar conversion, another said all the mods were fine and didn't need to be listed :!:
Anyway, got a week or so to decide :!:

Stevie,

Good luck with getting a reasonable deal with one of them :!:

The only downside IMO with ebike is excess is fairly high, for:-

(A) If you make a claim under Fire or Theft.

or

(B) If you make a claim on your own ins policy, as the accident being your fault.

I imagine the reason (A) is fairly high is because false claims have been made in the past, more so probably for cars than bikes, where owners have set fire to their own cars themselves, then filed for a claim, allegedly

When you get to the end of the quote check the full details regarding Excess, you may find it's changed now :D

Just tried them mike,cheers,
but they said they dont deal direct with the public,it's got to be through a broker ,and the fact that no broker has gave me a price from them means ,for me,they arn't the cheapest :!:
I thought the £77 f.comp from bennets was fantastic, just the fact they want £176 with bellypan :!:
Can get covered for £143 Direct Choice (NIG),with £320 comp excess,,,.......or stay with Devitt £138,with a £500 excess.
Both good prices i think ,but that £77 price keeps comin to mind :!:
Just unreal why no consistency regardin mods :!: :!:

All sorted, through "aqoute".....Norwich union policy, £101 fully comp, the mods didn't matter as not performance related.
Thats age 44, ..4 years no claims, £250 comp excess, £0 voluntary.
Im happy  :)
Worth a try for anyone whos renewal is due :!:
