Better to be a live novice than a dead wannabe...
Me? I ride like a wus most of the time, keep to speed limits and take few chances. Only out in the back roads in the Pennines do I open it up at all, and even then I'm cautious. I've seen bikes scream past me on the Cat & Fiddle road (Mac to Buxton) pulling wheelies and overtaking on blind bends. From the descriptions I doubt if I went out on a 'run' with a lot of these folk I would not keep up with the pace! Still, I enjoy my riding so who gives a sh*t?

I agree.
We all have our limits and any run should accomodate for every one involved else what would be the point if every one got seperated and the faster riders got there first and then moaned about having to wait for rest of us.
Maybe now the weather is picking up..... Sooner the better.
Who normally arranges runs and rides out around here. ?

I'm no john mcguinness by a long shot but we're all intelligent people or we wouldnt have storms

and i think youll find the general consensus is its not half as much fun tonking off on your own as it is seeing your mates reaction on that dip in the road that surprisingly brings his butt out of the seat ( beamish

) or that bend in the road thats a camera moment the list could go on & on

. The point im making is find the riders and the pace you feel comfortable with and only push as hard as is right for you

Oh yeh! Its far more fun enjoying the experience with others. IMO tips that have kept me alive are
1. Never feel intimidated
2. Ride your own ride
3. Stay well back from the bike/car in front
4. Watch out for black 911's and Cow shi* rise
