May be that's because they never told anyone! I have till 2011 too, but I'll have forgotten by then!

I only found out at the scottish motorcycle show, very helpful lady at the dvla stand explained what exp jun 09 meant. No information anywhere on new licence or web site to explain what this meant. Nice being governed by idiots!!

When you do send off your licence to be renewed make sure you photocopy it, i've heard stories of people getting their new licence back with the bike entitlement missing, they had to retake their bike test because DVLA couldn't find any records of them passing a bike test.

I had no idea that's how the new licence works, although I'm still on the old style one at the moment.
You're right about it being another government scam
