When i got up this morning it was nice and bright, if a bit cold , ..i thought to myself, if the roads dry out, i might go out for a ride on the bike later.

Went into Killie a message in the car , noticed my outside temp guage was at 6 degrees ,thought to myself Brrrr"..dunno about 'bike run now" (fair weather biker...unless i get caught out )

Came home,wondering, will i get 'bike out the garage,just incase",then down it came, friggin hailstones which rapidly turned to rain

What do you think lads, is that the bike runs over for the year ,well runs of any distance anyway

Used mine today and it wasnt very nice out tbh-and yes your right about the weather-it is getting nippy now.

As regards long runs out I tend to play it by ear over the winter months. Dont mind if its cold,dry and bright. Dont really mind if its a bit damp and chilly. If im wrapped up it makes no difference to me.

Going on the coach though (contradicts himself after the whole "winter riding" argument... )

It's easier to get large items back (if we buy owt ) than the bike. And I can see a few pints of Guiness off!

been fine, sunny and breezy here. the SP will be sitting out the winter but the storm won't - will only use a car in the worst weather. definitely up for a ride out or two. not sure about that bush, looks more mohecan than brazilian and my preference is hollywood

I used to ride all weathers to work, back when we had real winters. Only time I threw one down the road was on black ice when it just slid out from under me. Another time in deep snow was following the nearside wheel rut and lost it - ended up with the bike so deep in a drift under a hedge only the back wheel was visible. These days I don't mind the cold for short runs (<50miles) but longer than that and me arthritis means I can't pull the clutch in, I don't like rain much either mainly for the damage and mess it makes of the bike, but also I hate not being able to see properly (with both eyeglasses and visor misted up it isn't funny).

you should all move down south.cant remember a bad winter in the last 7 years.come rain or shine i always take the bike even though i own a car.

Same here BUT i did get out on bike well a few laps of my estate and a blast round the nearest roundabout my first proper bike ride since my accident and oh!!!!! it felt so good apart from left hand been sore, and probably my last ride too as im back in hospital in a few weeks to have my last 3 ops at least ill be good for next year woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm like most,i dont mind the cold if im well wrapped up, not too keen on rain, though been caught out a few times on bike runs
Normally our bike runs range from 100-250 miles round trip or so, depending where we head for, i'd never head out in the rain, but we'd go even if we knew we were goin to encounter it later in afternoon.

Somehow it doesnt matter too much if you get soaked on the way home from a bike run, but you deff dont want pissed on early on

Not keen on wet roads ,cause you can have loads more fun when there dry

all year round for me, only been in a car when fallen off, once in 23 years of riding, use to work local so could walk now 37 miles away less than a 30 min ride on bike upto hour an half in a car mostly motorway.

Used to be an all year rounder, but now if it is hissing down, snowing or icy, self preservation rules. If the weekends are not too bad and you keep warm I think a run out breaks the boredom of the winter.
Aye it was a bit nippy this morning, I was working about 15 miles from home, making a start on a conical roof, when I got to the gate at the entrance of the house, it was snowing and it continued rain,hail,sleet and snow all day (not lying at the level I was working at, but the hill opposite was fine and white). The occasional glimpse of sunshine did not tempt me to remove the waterproofs. I am just thawing out now. It is supposed to be the same all week.

Its now Thurs ,the week hasn't got any better , its 10am and the lights are on in house cos its that friggin dark .

Was planning on a bike run tomorrow ,supposodly we've to get sunshine and showers...we'll see

Its alright lads and lasses you will have fantastic weather for the next 2 weeks.....why? Because I have taken the Porn Rocket off the road to freshen up the forks and rear shock/linkages so its bound to be cracking the flags tomorrow Thats why I need two bikes well thats what I tell the missus anyway

Went for a 100 mile razz yesterday, blowy but bright. Headed east across to Fife and Dundee, much better weather they buggers get.

Stopped off to have a look at 2001 Y plate SP1 in Kirkcaldy, what a minger. T'was manky with nacked tyres and a flat battery so i couldnt even hear it!!(despite me calling seller in the moring to advise of my arrival)

I will be biking all year round again this year, but not on the Kwacker, it's the newest bike i have ever had and i dont want it ruined. My sons destricted Reiju will be fun!!

Must confess to have bought a "classic" BMW though. It will see me through the crappiest days when i wont even use my sons bike.

Weather as a rule does not bother me, I am from the Isle of Skye after all.
