A word of warning ,especially if you pay monthly by direct debit.

I had been browsing the comparison sites for Car insurance quotes, after i got my renewal invitation in from Esure @£224.

I went online , searching ,and on most comparison 'sites , Admiral came up with a price of £194 for identical cover to what i had ,so i phoned Esure to ask if they could match Admirals price, .."sorry sir, i'm afraid this is our best price" they said. :!: :!:

I was feelin a bit pissed off and nearly told them to stuff it :x

I decided to phone Admiral to confirm their cover was identical to Esures,...it was :) , THEN i asked what the TOTAL price was over the year for pay monthly by D.D , he said £269.54 8O , :!: so its jumped from £194 to £270 :!: 8O

I decided to phone Esure back, to ask what their total price for paying in instalments was, remembering their single payment price was high at £224. ............That'll be £245 she said :!:

So a £194 price jumps to £270 8O , and a £224 price jumps to £245 ,which is more like it :!:

Just goes to show if you get a much cheaper single payment price ,it can be much costlier by far ,when paying by instalments, than a company that gives you a higher single payment price in the first instance :!:

Im stickin with Esure for now.

Good advice Tim ,

to be honest ,i did/do have money to hand , but we got stuck into the xmas shopping early, spent a few hundred already, and thats not even on wife or kids :!:(aunties/uncles/nieces nephews etc) Didnt really want to part with another couple o hundred if i could help it :!:

Doin it early saves you bein skint and miserable over xmas :!:

Good point though about the free overdraft, ive got one,....and im well into it :( ...and cause it was free ,and lowish interest (dependin how much into it ), i never seem to get round to payin it off :!:

PS. A good tip Timbo if you've not got the full amount to pay in one go :!:

I phoned round and found I could get insured F/C for £150.

Now are they saying I've slowed down??
Are they trying to imply I'm somehow safer these days???
Is it 'cause I's old??????

I've had to go out and hoon around doing stupid stuff for hours just to get over it.......

your bike is 101 f/c?

you got 10 years on me, and 4 yrs no claims...
i got fully comp on my bike for around £70 zilch no claims bonus and 3 points on my licence and i had only been riding 3 out of the last 5 years. they did change it cause last time i got a quote they asked how many years i hadnt been riding.. now they ask how many HAVE you been riding in the last X years...
they should be paying you with those stats...
