I applied to this vtr list on yahoo and recieved this reply:

Hi You requested to be subscribed to the UK Yahoo VTR list.(Please note this is **NOT** the US Superhawk list) To cut down on spam we like new applicants to drop us a line telling us who they are, and a little of their VTR before we approve membership. As you havent replied within three days I've assume you changedyour mind, and I've binned your application. If it IS for you, but you just never got round to replying,or hadnt sussed that your reply was needed then please feelfree to apply again, and this time doooo try and pay attention! ;-) If your one of those well mannered persons who actuallyDID mail me back to say 'No Thanks'then please forgive this superfluos automated reply. Cheers Darth Bear - moderator extraordinaire

Is it me or does this seem a bit rude, especially as I did not receive any emails asking for this information in the first place.....

Dunno pet,

Seems a bit of an odd reply, a bit terse perhaps.

Not receiving the presumably automated invitation e-mail seems odd, either you had a typo in the application or their Admin is poo!

I go for their admin.

Never heard of a Yahoo VTR list (mind you, never heard of a Yahoo list period).

Anyone on here a member?

Would have thought it would have been raised on a thread by now if there is.

I must have put in the correct address as they emailed me the response, so I'm blaming Admin. Look at the ad at the bottom of the page 8O

I subscribed to the list, had the same emails, basically it is their own way of controling spam.

If I'm honest, there is not a great deal to learn from joining, if you want anything Storm related answering, then there are plenty of folk on here who know more than yur average Joe.

I will be removing my subscription as it is taking up pointless space in my mailbox

It isn't a forum like this place, it's a mailing list. Basically each day you get an e-mail with all the crap that other people have posted that day but it's all jumbled up and hard to follow. I signed up once but resigned after a few days as I couldn't work out what the hell was going on.

Wei, They do try to cut out the spammers by asking you to e-mail back with some info. You then get on the e-mail list and can post questions or comments, they are a friendly bunch but it does take some getting used to.

Ps if you post your picture you will make a lot of friends
