working in the garage sorting thro a load of spares week last sunday, knocked a oil container over and made a small spill, gave it a quick wipe over with some rags and thought that'll do it

monday morning school run done, suns out, roads nearly dry thought i'll have a blat out for an hour or so :D so open garage door steps in (with wet trainers on) goes butt over tit and snap! 8O

to cut the story down spent all last week in hospital, broke my leg in 2 places, dislocated me ankle and now the proud owner of some titanium plate and 8 screws holding it all together, docs say i'll be in the cast for 8/10 weeks

gonna be a long winter this year! but roll on feckin summer is what i say  :D

That's bad news 8O Thought you were going to say you got oil on the tyres and had a Big Off, falling on yer butt in the garage doesn't sort of sound a very exciting way of busting yer leg (if there ever was one) Anyways, hope you heal up soon M8 :!:

Sorry to hear that :!:

Who would have thought you could have done all that damage so easily :!:

Looking on the bright side (if there is one), better now than in the summer months :!:

Wishing you a good recovery :!:

So says the Bionic Man! You felt his and about 2 dozen other folks pain to matey! A few of your 9 gone I reckon.

Queue the music ..............

Very superstitious, nothin' more to say,

Very superstitious, the devil's on his way,
Thirteen month old baby, broke the lookin' glass,
Seven years of bad luck, good things in your past
When you believe in things that you don't understand,
Then you suffer,
Superstition ain't the way...

Hey Marra! Sorry to hear about your accident mate, a real 'downer' bet you had a 'cracking' time in casualty with all them nurses fussing over you. Them's the 'breaks' but at least your bike's OK which is a big plus.

Gotta be worth some sympathy bonus points with the missus!

Guy I work with fell down bottom 2 steps at home last year, managed to rip his knee cap off, literally!!!! Was off work for months, so you see it's not necessarily the big accidents that cause big injuries.

Nice pix Wienetta!!!!

Rogues gallery of bike injuries? We all know the risks so..............

Mine not so clear, but taken 1-6-79.
This is a pic of the base of my skull with a broken odontoid peg (C2) locked with stainless steel wire to stabilise it along with some removed bone from my hip. The light colour 45* band at the top is the steel halo pinned to my skull to hold it all in place. 8O

Did a cracking job there eh? Armco barrier meeting helmet means helmet snaps back, rips off and breaks my neck! Got me where the hangman's rope normally does its job.
