So what's the Yahoo Bot ?
It's always signed in and it never answers my pms.
Is it big brother watching or is the forum going to end without it?
Anyone got any ideas?

It's a robot that scans YOUR hard disc for porn and passes the information back to me. I must say I'm surprised at the variety of your collection. I would have thought some of that stuff would be illegal in most countries.

Proper explanation.

Cast your mind back to the old forum, do you ever remember seeing large numbers of guests on the site at any one time? These weren't real people but the bots (robots, spiders, crawlers) from search engines like Google and yahoo. These bots scan the web sites and pass the information back to Google etc so when you search on Google, you find what your looking for. With the new forum software the bots now have names, instead of being anonymous.

Just a suggestion, could you have a robots.txt file to exclude the webbots eating up bandwidth, but possibly allow the more commonly used google so folk can find the forum/contents.
