Post by doggit »

i got in work today and a guy who works there has a yellow VTR but his engine is fooked, and when i got into the car park i heard a horrible noise and it sounded like someone saying potato potato 8O 8O and i turned round and he was sat astride a harley roadster, :redface well thats what i think it was, after i stopped laughin at him and his AHERM bike i said what the fook you doin, and he admitted he had always wanted to own a HD, even though it made me feel ill i looked at it, and its a 1200cc but it is as small as a 125cc, that i did my learning on, anyone remember them, purple colour and sort of cruiser lookin, and even after that humiliation for him, he then told me the previous owner was the wife of the salesman who conned him   and she got rid of it as she wanted a bigger HD, i pissed me self laughin all day at him

give a 1200 a test youll be surprised, go like stink to bout 85 especially if it has the loud pipes and remap, an dont handle to bad for a custom, better than a vmax round bends. :p

Having got a Harley engine in the XB I suppose I can pass comment :D Although mines based on a beefed up 883.

I love the engine :D It’s very crude compared to anything slightly modern (tis a 50 year old design after all... :biggrin) but it’s great fun in the Buell chassis. Chucks out around 85 horse-the same as a fazer-but the torque is there all the time. It sounds great too imo.

As regards the "Harley" thing-I couldn’t give a toss what anyone else rides. If they're happy with it so what? It’s their decision. I wouldn’t go for a cruiser-I just don't like the look, riding position or ethos. But if someone else wants to ride one good for them I say. I've seen some cruiser riders (ala V-Max) seriously embarrass some sports bike riders too  as well as old boys on Duevilles and VFR's...suppose it’s not about what you have but how you use it :biggrin

Each to their own I say.

Now Im off to compare my Malibu Barbie collection...

At least you don't ride a green cruiser Timbo. You'd be fooked then :biggrin
