Died and gone to heaven

Post by simon t »

Hello from the sunny south of France where spring has well and truly arrived.

The othe day I took advantage of the sun to give my new toy (Faser 1000) its first test ride. I could go on and on about the phenomenal motor which drives like a train from any revs, the comfort, the riding position that lets me see the view not the front wheel etc. I could, but I wont.

What I will tell you is that I discovered a new route a few miles from Chauvac. Think deep gorges, hidden pretty villages, beutiful nature finally waking up, snow capped mountains, sheer rock faces, broad vistas, roaring torrents. I dont mind admitting roaring myself hoarse, so stunning was the ride. Every time I thought it couldnt throw anything else at me, it did.

The riding was a mix of sweepers, hilarious switchback hairpins, TT style between the walls, buttock-clencing drops. And the funny thing was, most of the time I was below 50, often less.

If you make it down here to visit us you WILL do this route. But be warned, it could change your life. An hours blat down a potholed b-road, dodging gatsos at Matlock or talking baldrocks in a cafe car park may never satisfy you again! Dare you try it???

How many hours ride from Calais? How much for a three day stay? I am picturing my Blade and me taking hairpin after hairpin :D

When I saw the post title and started reading I thought you were going to tell us that the Fazer had some how fell into one of those gorges and you then went out and got a proper bike ...........like a Firestorm!!!!!

Does sound nice though mate, I found some great roads in Cyprus going up the Trudos mountains and wished I had my Storm !!!!

Hi all, wasnt trying to make you jealous (well, not much) just had to get this ride off my chest - probably my best ever - ride, not chest! (as you know, someone else at this address has that qualification  )

Sorry, I digress. Haze is from scotland and has done a fair amount of travelling round there for the nuclear industry. She says the Highlands is the nearest thing in the UK to the landscape round here. shame about the weather though!

Anyone wanting to visit is very welcome - there's no charge (maybe the odd beer), we're just happy to have people to come for a while and experience the area. We know how lucky we are.

I think some of you have my phone number, so we'd love to hear from you.
