pushing a firestorm down the high street :redface :redface :redface . 020 tyre lines all over the place
Stopped at the hole in the dyke to get a few pounds out for a run to Ullapool. Press starter and no fire up, the battery was kind of dour last week but I took it to be that as it has not had much use since last October all it needed was a good charge and a run. Took it off the charger this dinnertime and hey it fired first time. Never mind tried to jump start it but struggled to get the leads in to the terminals so battrey out, homeski and am going back to try again after 5pm. Here's hoping that it is still there, as in the time it took me to get the wife to come and pick me up  and me returning there had been some fookers interfering with it.
Never mind, the time spent not motorcycling was not wasted. Just finished a nice rhubarb & apple crumble for later :D :D

Cheers

A.M.

Nae luck Tattie :( ,
exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago ,so i done the checks which proved the reg/rec was working ok and the battery was buggered .
I managed to get a R6 reg/rec from ebay for a few quid ,which was fitted as a precaution, as mine was the standard wee Honda item.

I got a Varta battery YTX12-BS delivered for £39 from mds Click ere..http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/mdsbatt ... omZQQ_mdoZ, they also do a Yuasa for £48 delivered ,which seems good.

Here's their website http://www.mdsbattery.co.uk/defaultuk.asp

Chris / Stevie,
The old man gave me a lift back in to town after 5, connected the battery and away it went. (didn't really fancy emptying all the tools out of the van to get it home) Just had on my working boots, jeans 8O, leather jacket, etc, you don't half feel exposed when riding along in jeans :!: . A mate is going to put the battery on his optimate to check if it will hold a charge, if not then a new one beckons. thanks for the link Stevie.

cheers

Tattie,
Glad too hear you got the bike back OK :!: I know what you mean about how thin a pair of jeans feel compared to leathers,

Chris.
