Shameless plug

Post by Ernie Cooley »

I have been working on creating a useful website for some time now, I launched it a week or two ago and it seems to be going okay.

I would be grateful if you could go and have a look at http://www.siteshare.org.uk the site is basically there for people to share their favourite websites / links, it costs nothing to submit. I am sure you all have some Gems stashed in your bookmarks folder, if so, why not share them with others.

Link in my sig also takes you straight to the site.
Please have a butchers, and please submit some of your favourite sites.

Thanks

Ernie

Hope it works out Ernie :)

My only concern would be people plugging their own "stuff" for self gain and adding pointless links.

Its like that notice board, at work, in a coridoor that gets so full of stuff no one bothers looking :(

I see your point, however, if thatnotice board had some sort of order and structure, then some people might just like to use it, or at least that is what I am trying to achieve with SiteShare.

Nice idea, unless you do the affiliate stuff and get paid per hit I cant see there is much money in it? but hey its a start.
How long does it take for a new site that has been added to appear on your site?
Also the required fields that you have to fill in could do with a little more work, lastly a copy and paste function for web sites you want to add would be a good idea.

I have around 100 affiliates on there already, similarly all the backend and Google adsense has been looked at. revenue stream is small as you would expect, but who knows ... the more people use it, the more I "Potentially" could make. It is not my sole job, just something I fancied putting together that may help some people out there.

Depends on whether I am working from home or not when they are submitted, all those submitted today have been uploaded throughout the day

Which Fields on the form? all suggestions welcome.

Also, not 100% Sure what you mean by copy and paste function, are you suggesting a popup form which automatically grabs the page of the site you were in?

I'm working on a remember me function for the submit page, however, I'm not that well versed with HTML and CSS coding, anyone out there willing to lend a hand, I'd be more than happy to talk to you about it.

Cheers for your comments Jim67

Hi mate what I mean with the copy and paste bit is if I find a site of interest I would like to copy the address and paste it in the web site box on your site rather than trying to remember the whole address.

The other thing with the boxes, the box headings, i.e name, your email, web site etc are coming up actually in the boxes?? then when I return to your site the headings are back where they are supposed to be i.e to the left, looks like a little glitch.

Just tried the copy and paste thing and this time it worked??? :?: :?:
