Hi all,
just joined the board before taking the plunge into Firestorm ownership, i'm currently looking round at available bikes & came across this
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/ww ... gLetter=52
a pre registered 02 Firestorm, phoned them up seeing what deals they would do & they were adament they wanted £6k & not a penny less
Who's out of touch here ? :-
me for thinking it's a bit rich to be charging full whack on a bike thats been gathering dust since 02
or the shop for thinking they can get that kind of money for it?

Welcome mate, yes,its a sh1t load of money for an 02 registered Firestorm, even if it has done zero miles.
Here's one thats advertised in a local dealers up here , it's an 08 registered bike with only 900miles on the clock, £4795.

IMHO I think they're hoping a collector will purchase that bike, then he/she will store it away and not ride it
Too much money IMHO too, but they are probably allowing for a possible trade-in, plus they're including 2yrs warranty with it

£6 for a Firestorm
As Chris says, Padgetts hold onto bikes like that for collectors. They have got a brand new SP1 for £10k
Noone will buy that unless they intend to keep it forever and never ride it

PADGETTS bikes have a tendancy to to this,
They had an RF900 for sale a little while ago and again very expensive to say its been sat around doing nothing since it was built, would this not degrade over time not being used.

Always amazes me when I see grossly over priced bike/cars !!! I often wonder who in there right mind would buy these things without doing a little research first??? but then again theres a sucker born every minute!!!
Stear clear of them mate, you will find some corkers for under two grand both on this forum and on flea bay.
Jim.
I have just emailed Padgetts with this comment:-
Just seen a 02 Firestorm on your website, you have got to be having a laugh!!!! how much??? try £2000 and you might shift it!!!
How you can sucker someone into paying that much money for that bike is criminal!!!!
Myself and all I know will be steering clear of PADGETTS in future.

Maybe they built it using new spare parts- if you added up all the spare part prices it's gotta come to something like that.
Not as daft as it sounds, if you really really want a discontinued model- a mate had an old-style Meriden Bonneville built a few years back this way.
Cost a fortune, but insurance was nice and cheap!
