Sad news!

Post by mikevtr »

Good evening,

I already tell that i'm from Bucharest-Roumania, in other post of this forum.

I saw in this evening, at news, a very sad video from your country, with two bikers riding, and one of them was kill by a truck, after he was trying to pass a car; he was throw by the small car right in front of the truck, dieing instantaneous. The other biker was filming with a bikecam. I understand the speed of the bike was very high.....but, maybe..." when your time has come, you can't do anything"....but we can avoid this accidents...

I hate when this happens....

Condolences!

Take care!

Thanks Mike, Good words.
I haven't heard too many details( my wife filled me in on most of it). It's always a waste when life is lost and could have been avoided.

Hi all,

I also saw it on a full page in the newspaper. It begs the question, would a little tw@ in a corsa who was exceeding the speed limit greatly, have a full page dedicated to him/her??, and i answer NO. It pisses me off when some
di*ks ride like fiddler*rs because it gives us bikers a real crappy rep.

Yes we all may speed, yes we may take the odd risk, would we ride at 170 mph whilst being filmed by your mate on a public road........NO.

It's very sad, there has been a life lost, and i really feel for the family, but lets be honest, if you were driving the opposite way and a biker lost control of his/her bike doing stupid speeds whilst being filmed, and the accident caused you to lose your son, daughter, other half, would you be as sympethetic.

I love biking and going out with a load of mates for a bimble to the coast is great fun, but i am seriously thinking about giving up road roading and sticking to the track, because im sick of idiots ruining my fun on the road.

I, along with 4 mates was involved in a serious accident in July last year in the lakes, where a articulated lorry decided to take a short cut down a road barely wide enough for 2 cars, with dry stone walls either side and speed no more than 50mph, round a bend and OH, where do we go.............into the front of the truck. Guess what the opinion of work mates, friends, family was.................."They must have been speeding", not, the truck shouldn't have been there. So because of the actions from SOME idiots on bikes, we all have a bad name.

The weather is good today, so if you are out on your bikes, take it steady, and next time you fancy overtaking "just one more" car before you hit on-coming traffic think of your families.

Sorry rant over, have a great sunday

He was hitting around 80-100mph when he collided with a car. Can't realy say much-sad that the bloke lost his life :( -but you can't pass traffic at that speed in those circumstances.

Bet the car and van driver felt great.

I agree, don't think of me as a heartless tw*t, but i do think, doing what he did
where he did, was totaly thoughtless and selfish. I do feel for his family :(

Stupid but a sad waste of a life but I dont understand why they are allowing the film to go public! I am pretty sure if it was a car accident and the drive died as a result it would not be shown in public. How must his family feel watching his death!

^^^^ Take it this is the vid ? Looks like car tried to overtake last minute, didn't see the biker hammering up fast, bike brakes swerves to try and avoid, looks like the car may have hit him also sending the biker across the lanes. NOT good............

Good evening to all,

Donk, you are right about reputation; we have the same reputation in my country; because of some bikers who don't give a f...k about their lifes, about their families, friends; who thinks they are the best on the roads and makes stupid things; everybody it's suffering and have this bad image. Here in Bucharest, in Roumania especially, the education of car drivers it's very low; don't see the bike, don't have the image of the biker on the road + the bikers who thinks they are the kings of the road + low quality of the road, few highway => the result it's just one big negative.

I just want to say the public roads are not for race, for stunt, for going with high speed and that's way we have to be with four ayes when we ride on bike, when we drive the car...or other vehicles. But adrenalin .....indifference....makes victims.

I now i'm from other country, and you may say " you don't have youre own accident to discuss?", please accept my apologise if i bother someone, but i feel sad when i see something like that, especially when it's about motorcycle; indifferent which land, country is.

Today i when out for a ride, with my litle bother, who's having a CBR F3; everytime i go with him i have this thing, my heart it going faster, i' looking for him, trying to protect him, because i know it's not safe and don't want something to happen to him...because i put the bike in his hand and its my responsability to keep him safe..... in this great town and country of ours, where big monney boys don't care outside there bmw, benz...the "blondes" girls who's watching in the mirrors only for their makeup....and the rudeness one who don't wanna let pass him , or cut your road.....and the boys with scooters who don't know the minimum from law..... What the f...k can i do? maibe ...i just have to let my bike in the garage and look at her. ....because a race track don't really have......because we don't have someone with money to invest........

All the words beforehand, are just my opinion. Please excuse some words.

Have a nice evening to you.

Mike.

Very good of you to start this thread Mike. Thank you for your thoughts and concern. Some very good points have been said about this fatal accident, which happened last year not far from where I live :!:

I was surprised you heard about it in Romania, but guess that's the power of TV.

Hi Chris,

Thank you, i just want to say my opinion;...yes, at tv i saw first time and then i looked on youtube, it was like a shock her, on all tv chanels; i didn't know it happened last year, but this is less important, i think the important thing is to learn something from this -this should be a notice to all owners of a driving license - , and it better be fast, because it's pity to waste lifes.

Take care, ride safe...!
Have a nice day...!

Hi Mike,

A sad loss for all concerned, it must have been a huge shock for his mate who was filming him and for the poor driver of the vehicle who he lost his life under.

If only it does slow some riders down a little, than I suppose in a sense you could say some good has come from it, even though it doesn't take away the sad loss.

You take care too Mike,

Keep the black stuff down,

Chris.
