Hello from Bristol

Post by jackdim »

Hi,

I'm Jack, 22 from Bristol and currently potter around on a TDR250 and have a YZ490J for fun. Looking to get rid of the TDR and have decided after much research that the VTR1000f is for me. This forum has lots of useful information so you'll see me lurking around a fair bit .

Any other Bristol or surrounding area members?

Ta,
Jack

Keep your eye's peeled-lots of VTR bargains to be had atm :P

Ta for the welcome, agreed on bargain VTR's. Missed out on a local 1999 one with 18k and full test for £1200. I was gutted, lol.

Sounds about on the money tbh.

They're a very underrated bike always slightly overshadowed by other bikes of the ilk-916/996, TL (to one degree or the other :? 8O) , Mille etc, etc...

I'd have another tomorrow at the right price if I were looking for a big "all rounder type" V2.

Good luck

I'd keep the tdr if I were you. Classic in the making I reckon.

I really couldn't afford to run both the TDR and VTR and I feel a bit limited owning a 250 2t. I do have the temptation to moth ball it though.

TDR should be picked up by its new owner tomorrow, so I'll have a nice bit of £££ to get me a VTR :D.

That's a criminal offence... one of the only bikes I've ever really regretted selling. I'd love another one if I ever get chance again.
It was good for the 1 1/2 years I've owned it but riding it everyday it doesn't tickle my fancy like it used to. Hopefully it can give it's new owner as many good times as it gave me and I still have my yz490 for 2t kicks :D  .

I bought a Mito Evo yesterday, I need to find a VTR as I really don't want to resort to riding the Mito lol!

Hi Matey. Bought mine on E Bay early last year. R reg with 10000 miles. Barely been rained on and virtually immaculate for £1750. A lot of bike for the money. Goes like stink and with decent slip ons sounds amazing. All my biking mates say it has an awesome sound. E Bay worth a look so long as you are carefull. Lots of clues to previous owner in add and usually lots of pictures to. Good luck. You will not regret owning one.
