There's no worse feeling than being stuck on the side of the road.
Glad someone stopped to help......I always stop or do the old "thumbs up/down" signal if I see a biker stopped on the side of the road.

Its always good to have a little help in times of need. As already said bikers look after each other, a rare thing in the human world nowadays.

One of the things I’ve always loved about biking is the camaraderie
When I first started with bikes back in the dim distant past of the 80’s you couldn’t stop for a smoke with out some one stopping to see if you were all right.
Have to admit it’s changed a bit now but there’s still a hell of a lot that still stop to lend a hand.
Unless there on a harly :mad2

Oooh not fun pushing a bike that size eh? Miss the low fuel warning light?
I remember pushing a GT250X7 that had snapped its chain (two days after I swopped it for my SuperDream 250. Grrrrr). That was hard enough and I had my helmet hanging on the mirror stalk as I was starting to cook and then a copper did pull over after I had gone about a half mile in a small country lane. His help & advice was limited to:- "You have to wear a helmet you know even when pushing a bike". He waited 'till I put it on then drove off..................... G*t !!!

It's very warming too hear of a good turn done by a fellow biker Tim
I've also run out of petrol on the motorway years ago, (coming back from the IOM TT) and it was a biker then that stopped and helped me out too
It's a horrible feeling when you realise you could have avoided that happening.
I'm amazed the police didn't stop considering where you were parked,
Chris.

ive never run out of petrol, but stopped once for a lad on the M1.
it was about 9.30pm and feckin lashing it down.
he was sat with his head in his hands!!
he had run out of juice, walked about a mile and a half back to the services, bought petrol can and some juice, walked all the way back!!!!
and lost his keys somewhere in the dark between his bike and the services!!
i was going to pick up a bike so best i could do was chuck his bike on the trailer and take him home, which was fun with the steering lock still on, as it wouldnt sit right on the trailer!!
i refused money aswell, but his wife made me a brew and a butty!!
felt good all week just helping someone like that!!

A while back I saw a kid on a moped beside the road trying to start it with a kick starter (it was quite a few years back).
He didn't have any tools, and neither did I, but I thought it was probably lack of spark.
To see if I was right, I put my finger up the spark cap and told him to turn it over real slow.......
Don't do this at home, kids, not big or clever....
