I'm in the last bastion of proper Essex nr the coast - There's a few around my neck of the woods but only one or two pop up here now and again

Have you a problem with yours?

Sounds like a line from a singles ad.

With the nights drawing in and the Ashes won, there's not much to contemplate for the seasons ahead except for heated handle grips and the occasional furtive glimpse of a fellow stormer....

I'm near Maldon and there's Simon in Mayland.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Oi!
Private members club, is it?

I'm only 30 minutes the other side of the Thames, so if you're out and about I wouldn't mind an invite.

Bugger all interest in Kent for a runout.

I'll be up for a Grand Essex Sunday rideout - though it'll have to be after September when I've finished behind the stumps

I propose it includes the Burnham B1010 > Maldon backroad via Heybridge to Colchester. Or possibly even a blat across the Dartford bridge and raid Kent to see if Tony's roads are scratchier than a pub snack.

Any other suggestions for routes/petrol refineries/greasy spoons?

I think an Essex (or thereabouts) meet is a really good idea, as my b8stard manager has just seen to it that the 1 day off a year i insist on, for the essex air ambulance run Sept 13th, I can't have.........Grrrr
So yes, let's organise.

How about this Sunday 6th 10.00am Asda Car park South Woodham Ferrers. From there do the Burnham bends, breakfast at the Dairy cafe Burnham (bikers meet) then of through Southminster to Bradwell - Latchingdon- Maldon _ Tolleshunt Darcy - Tollesbury - Birch Reservoir.
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

That suits me sir - Sunday Oct 4 - bright and early.

From Birch reservoir we could add popping over to Mersea Island and looking back at Bradwell (and glug down an oyster or two!)
