Bad day at work I got assaulted!

I just can't believe some of the nutters out there.

A year ago today one of the firemen I worked with died after a battle with cancer. Today we took the fire engine to the grave yard to pay our respects.
On the way out I was looking for my grand parents grave, and my Governor was helping.
We was walking by the foot of some graves to reach the area I thought their grave was and this nutter leaped out of his car accusing us of walking on a grave. He chased me punching me in the back nearly knocking me to the ground then went after my Governor lashing out with kicks and punches.

Police came to the station and are now "making thier enquieries"

Don't know what would have happened if it had been and older person who couldn't get away from the nutter! :mad2

Seems we are in the same occupation. There's not much that suprises me now.
I used to work at Fulham with a Fella who died from cancer about a year ago as well. Jeff. It's a long and very sad story, hope his boys are doing well. Brings a tear to the eye just thinking about it. R.I.P. Jeff.

Sorry too hear about yours and your Governors ordeal Paul, not something descent law abiding citizen's would expect to happen in a grave yard I'm sure :!:

I'm afraid this Country has been making a rod for it's own back for many years now, by allowing the punishment not to fit the crime.

My Mother-in-law who is in her 80's now was out on her mobility scooter recently when some low life mugged her in broad daylight, and stole her handbag. The point I'm trying to make is even if they caught this low life what would he get :?:

Probably a slap on the wrist and a few community hrs service, hardly a deterrent I don't think :!:

Chris.

So much of this is drug related I'm afarid. Till they give 40 year sentences for dealing and 20 for posession people will continue to be crackheads - its cheaper than booze sometimes.

Given that 80% of the prison population are in there for drug related (or induced) crimes, this might actually reduce the prison population too.

Thanks for your support guys.
I'm fine and have calmed down a bit now.
As for giving him a right hander, I would have loved to bar 2 reasons, he was a rather large "football" thug type and being in uniform and hitting someone (self defence or not) can so easily have put my job on the line.
