Hello all vtr1000f owners!
Registered recently & am introducing myself/bike here.
Got a '98 Cali spec Superhawk/Firestorm since May 2008 & she's my daily commute.
The mileage was 60k when I collected her & now she's @ 71k miles! Changed the cct & timing chain along with the usual stuff plus the evap can removal late last year.
Really enjoyed the v-twin engine due to its low rev nature as opposed to my previous experiences with peaky kaw zzr600d,kaw en500 vulcan; yam xs750 & my first bike the suzy gs450f
She is fast enough for me without having to wring the life out of her and gassing out of bends is without any worry of the rear wheel coming out of line!
Am definitely keeping her even when she's beyond 100k miles!
Too bad Honda doesn't care to appoint authorized agent;much less setting up their presence for parts or supplies, at my knack of the woods
Thanx
firehawk

Hi all;
Thanks for the welcome!
Am located in the far east as in s.e. Asia, Malaysia to be precise. Was living in semi-tropic Fla. USA almost 13 yrs; and the past dozen years, am back in full fledged high heat & humidity of the rain forest;) Riding all year round, one has to cope with only equatorial sun + the occasional tropical shower & not much more
Will try to upload pix of my bike soon; however, not to surprise you guys

my bike is red & I suppose in this forum, that puts her among the fastest vtr ever built

I love Malaysia! My Wife is Malaysian (half Chinese and half Irish = Chirish). Been there many times.
I bet you think you are king of the road over there. There are very few big capacity bikes around, nearly all scoots and peds. I do like the small bike only roads on the motorways, but their probably be a bit small for the Storm! It'd be like swatting flies!
Why don't you go for a track day in Sepang? There'd be no need for tyre warmers! ;-) Although maybe for wets though!
Welcome to the forum!
