Been looking forward to christmas for a much needed break and to spend some quality time with my gf and mum.
My gf has to go back to germany at short notice to acompany her dad to a hospitail apointment but will b returning for the new year so we have our dinner a week before and open halve are prezzys , great time had by all put her on the train to london. She takes her dad to hostpital and her mum comes to ,turns out he has a large tumor in his eye this means he has to have his eye removed asap and we dont know yet if he has more in the rest of his body. I have felt sick for the last 2 days thinking about it, god only knows what they are going through.

Really sorry too hear that Neil.
Christmas is definitely not a good time I know, but I don't suppose there's ever going to be a good time for news like that.
As Jim (Beamish) said, giving your support is going to be the best thing you can do. Hopefully they've found it in time.
Chris.

Horrible things happen all the time, you just notice them more at Christmas.
Just do your best to help each other get through it. All going well, your girlfriends dad will have lost an eye. That's the brighter side, and he'll get to wear an eye patch and can pretend to be a pirate to cheer everyone up.
And if it doesn't go well, then you know it's going to be a sh1t new year as well.
Either way, you'll get through it.
Thinking about you n urs.

Sad news Balls,
fingers crossed for the best possible turnout. And speaking from experience, just be there for her. You may feel powerless and in the way at times, you may even have to take the flack but being there is more important than not.
Good luck to the fellow

Not sure mate came off the M1 at Chesterfield down the dual carraigeway into the centre . Coming up to the roundabout looked to my right and bang window was in a million pieces on my lap. Had my 11 months old nephew in the back luckily he was on the other side or he would of been covered in glass too. So apart from a new brown stain on my seat and a couple of cuts was ok. Had to go bin dipping at Focus in Chesterfield to find something to put over the hole so i could get home
