It's been 18 months or so now, but I bought a Hanspree from Misco and had to change it 3 times, the third time I asked for my money back and bought a Samsung.
The problem was acknowledged by Hanspree as a firmware problem. The newre ones should be okay, but I would check with some forums.

To explain the problem, when you had a dark background and fast moving light colours over it, you would get an orange halo(ghosting) effect around the object, apparently LCD's suffer from this, but it looks like judder, this was like Steve Austin's`million dollar man effect'

They were giving them away to pole position winners last year, why not e-mail a racer and ask?

It's a bit cheeky, but after all they can afford a proper one.

Just say you're trying to collect autographs, but the ones on paper are as common as muck, how about signing the back of your freebie tv and sending me that, as I'm your number one fan?

Worth a go, surely.

(Worked for me, I've got three of them BMW M3's sitting around I don't know what to do with now.
And god knows how many Tag Heuer watches).

Just treated myself to a LG 27" tv <£300 after the old dinosaur Thompson CRT imploded

http://www.dabs.com/products/lg-electro ... ?q=M2794DP

Sound was a tad tinny so in came LG DVD Home Cinema System DIVX 1080P Upscaling HT503P for £120

Then refurbished Apple TV from UK applestore 15% off, plus Virgin HD upgrade + cables, hdmi switch remote, and speaker cable and rear speaker stands which have been problematic as I have to collect (not easy on the bike!)

Fun little project to keep me entertained till I wait for warmer weather to upgrade to manual CCTs...

HANNspree with 2 hdmi ports is handy, 3 would be even handier - have you stumbled upon http://www.avforums.com/ for any info

had a chat with a TV Fanatic i know and he told me to swerve the HANNspree set as it has a sh1t Contrast ratio which will result in poor blacks on the set, he said look for a set with a higher number and dont go off dynamic contrast look at true contrast, he said the hansprre is 1000:1 which is poor, its also the same as that LG you posted wicky, he said on his set a few year old now it has 30000:1 which results in amazeing blacks said its like its almost poping out at you, or something along those lines.

i got the bird this LG M227WDP 22 inch Wide Monitor with Digital TV Tuner in june 2009 http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-M227WDP-Moni ... =de_a_smtd
it was around £220 quid then its now down to £170 the contrast ratio on that is 10000:1 and the image is good but there is a bit of light bleed that does get to me when im at her's its not a bad set for the price but i would like something around or larger than 26"

he said to also look for a low responce time of 1.5 or 2ms also and to aviod anything above 2

i have read a few reviews on that av fourms site and im curently leaning towards this set Panasonic TX-L32S10B

I tried "He who dares, twins".

Worth a go, but one of them always has a spare hand to slap you with, IME.

And they argue about who gets to go in the warm sidecar.
