my little un has got goldfish lol.
her first one she called einstein cos it appears to have more than a 5 second memory.
then a tiny one called jaws which has grown massive, and a few others.
ciclids are a wierd fish imo, very close to pirannhas eh??
remember as a kid i used to go fishing at the hotties in st.helens - a canal that used to be used as a cooling res for pilkington glass, the water was always warm.
the legend was that in the 60s some petshop owner dumped all his tropical stock in there and they bred like crouton, creating some real mistits.
it was rife with multicoloured ciclids crossed with perch.
i remember one time seeing a huge terrapin there the size of a binlid
ah them were the days

A word to the wise...Timbo don't blame the death of the goldfish on your daughters feeding them too much, try keeping them in water you'll find it helps
onward and downwards!

rofl mike ruined my diet :/
i was in a chippy in wigin once, full of schoolies and they was all orderin 'smack bap wi pea wet' in a strange accent.
i was bemused as to what this 20p meal could be so i ordered one myself - it's like a battered slice of spud on a bun with mushy pea juice on it.
was quite savoury tbh.
another time i ordered a meat and spud pie.
the greasy serving wench asked if i wanted it warming up - i said ok so she threw it in the fat and fried it

it weighed about a kilo and was dripping with stinking chip oil. but it was nice...
i'm fkin starvin. wasting away.

We used to go to the local bakery, share a round loaf, cut in half, with a mate, eat or feed the seagulls with the insides then ask the chippy to put in a portion of chips. MASSIVE chip butty.... lovely that was....
