Mate's brother phoned up last night.

Can I sort his DTR125 out, service, rear tyre and MOT before he starts his Learner testing on Saturday?

Oh, and while I'm there, could I have a look at the DZR400 he picked up cheap on E-Blag as a non-runner.

There'll apparently be "a drink in it" for me.

Being popular can be a nuisance. But being a gifted grease monkey can get you into trouble.

I'm having a similar spell at the moment. In encouraging a couple of mates who are seriously considering biking; "Sure, I'll give you a hand to find a bike/Give you a ride to your CBT/show you how to look after yer bike, etc". What are friends for, I thought.

In the last three weeks, they've got very serious, booked CBT's, DAS', both bought a bike and I've seen more helmets, leathers, gloves, trousers, boots, covers, locks and aftermarket bits in numerous locations than I care to mention. The spare room is taking longer to finish and my better half becoming less than enchanted on the subject of bikes, especially if I haven't made the dinner.

I've still got a garden to turn over, pave and re-lawn and a drive needing relaid.

A marker or three is always handy.

a while ago i was doing chain & sprocket on a neighbour's dt175, had a placcy 90 in the garden for rewiring, a hill climber i was building in the kitchen, and a few other bits and bobs around..
a guy pulled up in a car and asked if i'd look at a kid's bike he'd bought....
i said ok, helped him get it out teh car and put it to one side.
later i found it was just the kickstart spring that was on wrong.
i fixed it and rang the guy but no answer. for weeks i tried getting hold of him but no joy..
i thought crouton it, if he doesnt come for it, it's going on ebay.
then one morning he turned up in a panic, saying he needed to take the bike cos 'it was on top'.....
turned out he'd stole it, and a load of other stuff from a neighbour's shed, just over the road!!!! :mad2 :mad2
i went fkin apeshit as you could imagine and told him to get the fkin thing back where it came from and don't come near my house again.
a few hours later plod came and searched my house, which i was not impressed about at all.
what a fkin wonker - could've got me nicked for handling stolen goods.
i later heard it was returned, but that's not the point.
having had a few bikes stolen myself, i fkin hate theives with a passion, especially burglars.
fkt me up for a bit tbh, can't trust anyone can you...
always been one of them folk who will do awt for anyone but since then i am reluctant to help anyone i don't know.
