Yesterday I had to be in Central London so I left my local garage at 6.45am in Dumfries on the Collin Bypass & was on the Marelybone Rd at 11.30am and that incl a stop off at the M6 Toll Rd services! So not bad, got parked, saw the doc, was in there 1.5 hrs, left there and headed out of the city on the A40, up to Royal Park for fuel at 1.45pm, headed back towards the M40 and saw a horrific crash (cannot remember which junc as was as Dave was driving back & I was reading the paper)! 2 cars totally front end smashed in, road closed, someone on the embankment strecthered out, the air aumbulance parked up right on the ajoining field next to the fence where the injured lay! This was about 3.30pm ish and miles of backed up traffic....Crikey, it looked really really bad 8O

There is no congestion charge on a weekend :D, so that was saving there..Got home at 6.30pm and that was with one fuel stop on the M74 30 miles from home. 780 miles door to door and back again so not bad for the car...Saw a stack of bikes everywhere I looked and one guy was riding like a complete rock and had 3 others behind him who was riding ok and he decided to dart over 3 lanes of traffic to cut over the slip road at the services (can never remember the name as it looks like an air traffic tower) and of course, his mates, one of them a girl on an old bike, decided to follow him...Talk about stupidity. Loads of lovely bikes passed me going either way but I don't think any of them were Storms. If you were on the M40/M42/M6 yesterday afternoon, then you prob passed me lol..

My daughter is up from Gorseinon and she had made my tea, bless, I watched a bit of F1 and saved the WSB recording to watch today, and promptly fell asleep at 9.30!!

Took the car as both of us were going and the car is dead economical compared to 2 Storms doing 750 miles a piece :eek2 :eek2

I got 47.5mpg out of my old Volvo Diesel today (M42, M40, A34, M3, M27 - my weekely commute)

About 40mpg on the 'Storm...

.....but I do get into work quicker...

Horrible isn't it?
I was on the scene of a fatal bike accident last week. Looked the classic accident of a bike going up a slight left turning semi blind hill and a silver Rover 75 had pulled out bouncing said raider off his front wing against a wall on the other side of the road. He died at that side of the road a short while later. A lovely day (last Friday) weather wise and it left me wondering how he'd been that morning. Full of the joy of a great day etc and now.....................
Very sad for those left behind!!!!

shocking tale lsm - once was on a ride out to southport with a few mates and we saw two kids, 10 yo ish riding a push bike two up went straight into the side of a truck carrying scrap cars.
i think i actually threw up tbh & we cancelled the ride.
one lad survived but was a right mess as you can imagine.
what did me was seeing them swilling bits of the other one off the road with fire hoses

i really hate driving / riding down south tbh as motorists there are so inconsiderate, leave a gap a car's length and 2 cars fight to squeeze in - shocking.
i drive 4k miles a mth average and see carnage on a daily basis, but what annoys me most is when people have a very minor shunt and stop in the outside lane, blocking the roads for hours :Argue 1:
i think one way to improve traffic flow would be to put up a 10ft opaque fence / screen in the central res to stop folk rubber necking, and consequently running into each other....
