Have heard of a few instances of late where guys have been pulled by the boys in blue for no insurance, even though they have coughed up the readies. It appears that some insurance companies are taking an extraordinarily long time to update the national database. OK, so PC49 can always check with your insurance company admitedly, but do you want the hassle of a potential pull? Also if you are re-taxing your bike on-line same effect, it will tell you uninsured.
The website below is free to check your own machine appears on the database - always worth checking a few days after taking out/renewing your policy to ensure that the insurance man has done his job

agree, i changed the reg number on mine and got a producer a week later - even though i had the new paperwork, mot etc from the local dvla and had updated my account on ebike, printed out a new cert etc, the plod still said the bike wasn't registered in my name so i wasnt insured.
Richard.
i assured them it was and told them very politely to go crouton their mothers.
the tug was after passing a dvla van that couldn't read my reg from the front (obviously!) - plod were waiting in a layby a bit further on, picking up those the camera van had missed.
or at least that was their cover - they were probably gay dogging in kinky outfits

I must admit, I've not had any problems and I just changed ins co's last week as my ins was due on the 22nd and I changed from CN who wanted £227!! with 2 yrs no claims etc to motorcycle direct £108 FC with BR & Legal etc and a combined xcess of 400 which I can live with. It's something I would never have given asecond thought to..
Thanks for that.
