Hi, looking for a puppy, mainly for the kids...........bloody hell they cost a lot, a girl at work paid £1,700 for a bulldog pup.
Way out of my league.............So does anyone on here have any puppies that might be for sale to a loving home?

why don't you just go to the local dog's home m8, i got my last 2 from there and they were fantastic pets, very gratefull for being given a home...

also they had already had all their jabs etc and last one was perfectly housetrained, wouldn't even pee in the garden lol
puppies are a pain, better to get one a few mth old imo, kids will still love it the same.

Gotta agree with Benny, my old German Shep and my current labrador are both re-homers. Had GSD aged 1year and the lab at 7 months both toilet trained and both well behaved. If you want a specific breed, google eg labrador rescue and you can register with their rehome centres. And money wise they usually ask for about £100 donation.

Got our cat from Battersea Dogs home, he came with the name "Trouble".


I'd have thought that applies to any cat in Battersea Dogs Home.....

Agree with the others. You're much better going to a rescue centre or somewhere like the Dog's Trust. My dog is a cross from the Dogs Trust, he cost me nothing and I have had him from a pup, he's 6 now. He is cheaper to insure and will probably live longer than most pedigrees as cross-breeds and 57s are often healthier.
There is a pedigree snobbery in the UK, but it is lessening. Many dog breeders have been found out for what they are, avaricious with little morality and ethics. The result is pedigree breeds with wholesale genetic faults due to in-breeding and over-breeding, often supported by the Kennel Club. This is largely why Crufts is no longer on TV. Just take a look at an English Bulldog, it has been so in-bred that the poor dog can hardly breathe and is in pain, many believe that it should be against the law to breed Bulldogs because of this.
So don't give money to a breeder, go to a rescue centre and give a dog a home.
Just a further point re 'nice looking dog' When I first met my dog he was 2 months old with a floppy ear and he was so gangly, to be honest he was an ugly sod. But after a few days he became the most beautiful dog in the world and he still is. My point is this, many people buy pedigrees because they want a Lab or a Ridgeback or a Great Dane etc etc, because they like the way it looks. But this is just initial impressions, once the dog is yours it becomes gorgeous. I'm not having a go at Pedigrees here, I love all dogs, I'm just trying to point out that they don't have to be the only option.

I have 3 greyhounds, all ex racers, they are quiet and docile unless you have a squirrel or cat in the garden!
Only need 2 20 min walks a day dont smell doggie even when wet.

You dont have to throw balls for them, if you are reading, watching tv or whatever they sleep. If you are going out they are keen to be with you.
They have been bred to be companion dogs for nearly 5000 years so they do get the hang of living in a home very quickly.

£100 donation as mentioned not too fussy feeders only thing they are prone to is bone cancers and occasionally corns

One thing dont try and chase them to get them back, even the older ones can run at 30 mph!

Thanks to everyone.........not sure about the dogs on the cooker, although I do like hot dogs, just not the ones made from real dogs.
have now obtained a cross breed GSD/springer spanial.........parents a bit scraggy but pup looks in good condition.......bloke is a biker so cant be all bad.

Kids are happy, wife is happy..............and Ive just cleaned up two piles of poo.

i was in the vietnamese restaraunt the other night and complained 'waiter, there's a piece of chicken in my crispy locusts' and demanded a refund.

i am very much against cruelty to animals though, especially little fluffy puppies and kittens.
