Daves had a real bad smash with a motorbike.

Dave had a bad smash today on our back road B729 by an idiot 18 yr old on a bike riding at over 80mph on the wrong side of the road and hit dave full on in the front of the car. Dave is quite badly bruised and dislocated his big toe as the bike hit the car dead centre, pushed the engine and daves pedals forward onto his feet & the bike bounced back throwing the lad over the car for 30ft. Nothing dave could do, he tried to put the car into the grass verge to avoid him but he just rode straight into the car head on! He's ok, on crutches, but is sore&really badly bruised. His toe was pushed back into place this afternoon. I got there before him as someone from work took me up the hospital! As the ambulances rolled in, I could feel my blood boiling over as the young lad was stretchered off flat out, good job, I was going to let him have a piece of my mind otherwise. As you can see by the pics I took on the way home, all on the left! Why on earth the kid didn't try to even move his bike to his side of the road is beyond me.

The kid was knocked out for a bit, and a passer by opened his flip front lid when he asked them to after he came round and she took his loose teeth out of hids tongue where they were bedded!!! 8O 8O . He was out flat when he was admitted, just as well, I felt like killing myself for being a lunatic! He could have killed dave and god knows what would have happened if Dave had of had a learner in at the time! Dave broke hard, tried to bank the verge and took cover in the passenger side as windscreen caved in. Glad I wasn't there. Annan store were great as I was doing Union work there & they took me to the hospital..
How do you come down that side of the road on the wrong side and NOT get back in when you see a car along the road and you are headed right for it. He must have panicked and locked his arms up as he was breaking he bike down in speed as he has a lot of broken bones and was in resuss getting plastered up from head to toe. Daves scratches on his arms are off the air bag! poor dave. Nasty one on his shoulder off the seat belt too..

As you can see, the left hand side of the road, is where Dave was in his car, he tried hard to bank it onto the grass but the lad must have panicked and froze but was doing at min of 80+ at the time of impact. He was thrown clear over the top fo the car. Dave had to crawl out of the car as couldn't walk as had dislocated his toe and chipped a bone in his foot. The kid has broken limbs and that's as much as we know, but he does live in our village so we'llfind out soon enough. Bike and car written off. Two bike cops were in attendance and Dave calmly told them he crawled down the road, sorted the kid out and crawled back to the car and that's how he thought he'd broken his toe! At least he was using his humour to get him through....
As you can see, the grass is marked off Daves car where he tried to put it out of harms way!

Few deep breaths Dave and you won't this is at all!!!!

Just have to go see the car tomorrow now and Dave said is a total mess as the engine was pushed forward on impact, that pushed the pedals forward and did his toe in just thank god he wasn't out on a lesson as it would have put anyone off anymore lessons!! I'm pleased Dave is ok, I'm pleased it's not worse for him but he must be in paincos he asked for a Jack n Coke so I gave him the last of my Jim Bean before opening the JD and for a guy who never takes a pill and never gets a headache, he took 2 of my Cocodamol 500's off the doc so he must be feeling it.

His shoulder is sore but I told him he'll be worse tomorrow so I rang the docs from the hosp and asked them to see him tomorrow when I'm at work, as we only live literally 50 yards from our surgery and he now has sticks so will be ok to hobble up there. Will get on to Ins co's tomorrow and get a curtesy car sorted out etc. What a total shite day and massive inconvienance for us both and painful day for Dave, all because some kid decided to be a total rock!

I overheard the kids dad asking to see his son and so gave him a piece of my mind but found out he lives in our village, which I figured as not a lot of ppl use that road unless local. It is a great road for the bike, runs for miles on end we ride it all the time, but we NEVER take the racing line when cars are coming and NEVER stay out in the wrong lane either...I hope that young lad learnt his lesson and bit of luck he won't pick those keys up in a very long time!
A distressed Tracy & Dave

couldve been a lot worse as you say.
no wonder he crashed with all that charlie all over the road.
do you think he was just trying to overtake & sh1t out, or maybe just didnt realise how fast his bike was?

toe looks fkin sore btw - tha's going to smart in the morning
them airbags dont half give you a crack in the face when they go off - 200mph+ makes your face feel like this

spose he'll be out of work for a bit eh>>
was it his gearchange toe btw>>>
when i did mine i couldnt wear anything but steel toecaps - still clicks like crouton if i wear trainers & that was 5-6yr ago. never the same again.
i did mine playing footie - tried to be a hero and slid along the ground, booted the goalpost full blat with trainers on, sounder like a twig snapping.
hurt so much i actually threw up

shame for the lad as well, i know it was a daft stunt but what a way to learn - i did the same at 18.
maybe he'll take his time in future, if he ever goes on the road again?

do you think he was just trying to overtake & sh1t out, or maybe just didnt realise how fast his bike was? He wasn't overtaking anything B, he was taking the racing line through the bends and just kept on riding on wrong side of the road!! There wasn't anything else there, plus he was riding a honda 400.

was it his gearchange toe btw>>> Right foot! funny, cos that's the first thing I said (eeh, just like me, as had said, oh well, its only a dislocation so Wales is safe pml) He did see the funny side!when i did mine i couldnt wear anything but steel toecaps - still clicks like crouton if i wear trainers & that was 5-6yr ago. never the same again.

Wow, sounds like everyone was lucky, the boy maybe got target fixation in his panic and just drove straight into the front of Dave's car, sounds like Dave was all over the place trying to avoid him. Glad Dave's OK, the kid will mend and hopefully will have learned that his life can be snuffed out very quickly if he acts like an arsehole, and he could take others with him.

Yes Kev, that's what the bike cops said when they turned up as they closed the road both ways. They told Dave he must have had target fixation. Well at least when we left the hospital he was alive. I cannot for the life of me, find one ounce of sympathy for him and we are popping up the doctors this morning so Dave can get a good checking over by our GP.He had enough Jack last night to help him sleep accompanied by my strong painkillers but today he's very sore. He knows it will be a few days before the football on his foot goes down and the chest/arms/neck pain subside. BUT, alive and that's all that matters. Thanks guys for the messages, Dave said to pass on his thanks.:-)

Reminds me of an old Jasper Carrot sketch. "I had to swerve several times before I hit him"

Phew!
Sounds like a really close call and it could have been worse for both of them :eek2 . Hopfully two broken arms and having to get his mum to wipe his elbow again will give the little tw@ time to think how lucky he is.

Get well Soon Dave

Sorry to hear about Dave's accident Tracy - having just recovered myself my tip would be to get him loads of DVDs and stuff to do at night, because it can get really boring if you're too sore to sleep. 24 is great on these occasions as it's soooooo long and rather gripping I must say.

With me for the first week or so new injuries and aches would almost suddenly appear as the body reacts to the trauma and it's all a total mare really. Hope he recovers soon.

Sounds like the lad just froze, or he had some sort of medical blackout thingy for DR House to sort out.

Sorry to hear about this one, Dave'll have to wait until his toe's better before he kicks the kids butt all over the village.

Toed in the hole? He will be!

Anyway, they're not accidents, they're upgrade opportunities.
Look on the bright side.
What car does he fancy next?

You can see where the kid has almost gone through the windscreen! I was shocked, really shocked this afternoon when I saw it! Dave was extremely lucky to have crawled out of this at all. I could murder the little tw@t myself. His dad was at the garage not long before us, good job Dave never saw him. They live less than 2 mile away and haven't even had the decency to come and ask if Dave is ok...

Same kid put his car on its roof in a farmers field not 4 months ago on the same road and we saw it in the field for days with police tape round it before it was removed. He needs a right good smack. Kids got a deathwish.
Here is the mangle of Daves car, see which direction the wheels are facing! I think you can safely say, it's fookED!! On the upside, we went to get the roof sign and bits and bobs out of the car and guess what was in the boot :?: A 12 PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dave was over the moon     ..
