Ha Ha! Never tried that! Nice one.

The trick we used to pull was to hide behind a wall then as someone walked past smack a whole roll twixt two bricks :Shock1:

Of course back in those days before 'elf n safety we didnt even think of using ear plugs.......Pardon, whats that you say.... yes its 6.59 mate.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Nut 'n' Bolt bombs worked best with the heads of Swan Vestas. Find the biggest bolts you can, tow ball bolts work best, and fill the nut with the heads of the matches scrapped off the stick. Tighten down hard. Throw and run like fu........

that noise sounds like my gopro cam when i rev my bike lol :biggrin

ground up matcheads packed into an aa battery case & crimped over at the end, wrap it in a plaited sheet a'la hmp and BOOOOM!!! very big bang!

another favourite trick was to steal a empty beerkeg and place it on top of a stack of 5-6 wooden pallets, stuff the pallets with newspaper and light it..... leg it :biggrin
the heat boils the beer dregs in the keg and makes massive steam pressure inside, until the heat weakens the keg........
sets off house & car alarms over a massive radius, allegedly can go upto 1/4 mile up in the air lol, according to the newspapers!!!!
wouldn't like to be on the receiving end when it comes back down, but you dont think about that when you're a kid lol :biggrin

You are dead right Barry, it was heads off Swan Vesta matches that I used too, not caps as I said earlier :D

We also used to make mini bombs using copper pipe, but I best not go into that on here

Swan heads in some huge bolts when I was an apprentice engineer, left it over a gas soldering iron heater when we went to lunch.....
Just for good measure we also counterbored the bolts to leave a bit more room for a bigger charge of ordinance.

One end removed a brick from the workshop wall, and the other put a bloody great dent in a lathe backshield.

Funny, but no-one seemed to know how it happened.....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Bet you never tried a Cordite Volcanoe 8O

When we were kids we used to go down to the harbour, climbing about the boats, fishing for coalfish of the pontoons with a hook and cotton thread, trying to kick off limpets with plymsoles  , walking along the edge of the retaining wall at high tide and a southerly gale ( see who would stay dry/ not get knocked off) but then we discovered cordite.
A salvage company were salvaging a first world war battleship from the firth and over a period of months the metal would come in on the barges and be dropped at the side of the old pier to be burnt up in to smaller bits and taken away, It was aparently to be used for medical stuff as it had sunk before the -OMB was dropped. Anyhow one of us had found out that the round thick "straw" like stuff littering on the shore by the pier was cordite and it burnt pretty well, you gathered a good amount and dug a deepish hole in the sand and then put some of the "straws" down the hole this was followed by some more and some more untill you had built a "wee hill" then the top was capped off and a longish "straw" placed on top.
The coast was checked for passers by and the braver ones lit the "straw and we all took off like scalded cats to the gun emplacement to watch the spectacle. Mount St helens had'nt got a look in as to what we had there and then.

Mind you it used to give you a dirty burn

Cheers

once we were having a midnight barbecue on top of some slag heaps known locally as the muckies... lovely spot overlooking the canal...
we had a fire going, guitars out, everyone was pissed & stoned, then one lad on leave from the army, produced one of them starburst flare things that light the sky up...
he lit it on the ground & omfg!!! talk about bright!
it was brighter than the brightest day, at like 3 am!!

we thought crouton, best dag it out or plod might come - have you ever tried to put one of these things out  i set fire to my boots, all the grass was on fire, tried pissin on it and it just made a stinking cloud of piss steam!
ah, piece of corrugated steel roofing.... dragged it over the flare and the darkness blinded us all
next minute, the metal started to glow red, orange, white, started spitting sparks, them bam, daylight again 8O it was like that for about 20 mins before it died out!

another guy pinched some ship to ship rockets that pull a wire across from lifeboats etc, to attach a rope to...
these things go about 400m dragging a steel wire behind - his plan was to set fire to a car in the middle of nowhere, wait for the police heli to come, then launch these wires into the sky & snag up the rotors bringing it down 8O
politely explained that it really wasnt a good idea seeing as the heli contains people and they would get hurt or dead.
used to know some right nutters lol

have you ever done that with oxy acetylene in a binbag??? hilarious lol!
we got a giant binliner, filled it 50/50 with oxy & acetylene from a welding set, tied the bag and snagged some scrunched up newspaper in the knot.
lit it and legged off, diving into a dry ditch for cover...
suddenly, a freak gust of wind blew it back toward us & it went off about 6ft directly above us!!!
BOOOOM!!! 8O loud as crouton lol, singed my eyebrows and hair off lol :shifty:
