has anyone else had to start on the hayfever tablets yet, seems to be getting earlier every year

yes mate big time, especially with the neighbours having a lovely flowering back garden already, and a bloody tree out the front full of blossom.

i used to get it really bad.... started with it suddenly when i was about 10 or 11, maybe a bit younger.... we used to have a den in a hay barn, hollowed out inside the bales... one day i mustve just od'd on pollen.

the last 5 years or so its been getting weaker & weaker to the point that all i seem to be allergic to now is tree pollen, grass cuttings and house dust (cant use a hoover lol)

my lad gets it bad as well, as bad as i used to be.

what i do now is buy the cheap 70p tabs from asda - theres 2 types, loratidine and sumat else so i buy both and alternate them, a box (7 tabs) of one then the others the next week, that way i dont build up a tolerance to them and lessen the effect.

i used to find presctiption meds would work for a mth or so then i was doubling up the dose... by alternating the type this doesnt happen and again, much cheaper than a script

I kicked off with hayfever too. It was about 2 weeks i noticed it.
Not needed any meds yet but im popping to the docs next week.

Similar situation in that i live in the countryside and my commute is passed rape seed feilds.

cheers for that benny, i'm on prescribed loratidine now have been for a few years, but i've bought some from sainsbury's and will alternate them then,

dont bother with the docs bondy, just get the cheap generic ones from the supermarket.... theyre exactly the same as the ones the doc will charge you £7.80 for.

rapeseed is a massive pollen producer.
it's grown everywhere cos they get massive subsidies for growing it - they use it to make fuel oils & veg oils, rather than a cereal crop...
shite it is, wants banning.

I did wonder why they grew so much of it. I thought everyone deep fried all of there food.

Made me feel really healthy.

I get the meds free if i go to the docs but thanks for the advice.

no. its an allergy caused by the imune system over reacting to an irritant.
