finally got round to fixing the linkage! :biggrin
Image
took 5 mins to cut off 10mm each end of my short linkage.
(notice had to nibble a bit off the lowers as the rose joint touched it slightly)

yes, ive got harris fireblade rearsets on mine and they came with a selection of link bars.
but as i have them set on the 2nd set of holes (only about 2" further back than std) even with the shortest bar, the actuating lever was too far forward.
it still worked ok but as i said it was a bit clunky going into 1st, 1st to 2nd. and neutral was fiddly to find.
rather than nudging the shaft left or right, the lever was sort of pulling it backwards & forwards.

cutting the linkage bar down a bit made it possible to get the lever vertical so it's much less effort to select gears.
same effect as moving the lever vertical and adjusting the standard bar to suit.
there's a thread here on it somewhere.

can feel the benefit of the silky rose joints now  (mcgillmotorsports on ebay)
