Is there a reason that this forum search engine and also many others won't look for three letter words?

I know the first two in the heading are to us well known abbreviations and can be put in full, and the last is what you lean on in the pub... but try searching for threads on oil and it comes up with nowt..

The forum software to Index all the 3 letter words would be inefficient. Happens on most forums but bypass it using google site search
