Wow, first time I have ever seen a damper fitted there?!?!?

I was going to ask if it was a damper as I thought it looked like one, but didnt want to ask and look stupid in case it wasnt...

Yeah mate, after much research on where to mount it!!!
I did a small cut on the inner fairing to make way for the damper to move freely.....
It served my well on the track when u i powered out aft a turn.

Sorry didn't quite get u there mate,,, correct me if im wrong tat u r asking on how i maintain the alum parts?
All i did is to used WD40 to 'coat' those parts, cos if u start to polish those parts,,,, OMG to will really really hv
to maintain the shin every now & than.....

As for the rims, i used paint remover the remove the outer trim of the rims. But be warm u got to have a set
of steady hands ya.....

Not at all mate,,, if u want i can snap closed-up pixs to show u how u can do it as well :D
At tat time whwn i did the mounting .... (10yrs ago!!!), steering mounted damper is not out yet.
Even it does, is gonna be freaking expensive too.

Thks,,,

A full system RS3 weights almost the same as SINGLE SIDE STOCK END CAN!!!!!!!!!
The stock is pretty damn heavy, to futher reduce her weight i did a 'conversion' on
the oem front/rear spocket & chain to a much smaller hence lighter one!!!

Cant recall the same but is even smaller than those of a 400cc Honda Super Four type.
At first wasn't to confidence if it able to cope with the high torque of Firestorm, but
after numerous track testing..... it hold up pretty well.

Infact i was told by my late buddy tat even MotoGP bikes is doing to same things.
Trust ne mate, is merely half of the original weight!!!!
