Hi every one. just got myself a '98 firestorm in yellow 23000 miles. Love the bike, also have a Buell, very similar power up to 5000 revs then it takes off.
I love the grunt of big V-twins. By the way after reading this forum you are after frightening the bejaazus out of me about cam chain tensioners so I am looking for a set of manuals or I might try to convert the originals to manual. Cheers. :D

hey there.

Once you've done the cct's and reg/rec you can relax.....

They're reliable apart from that.
Every model has a weakness, Storm's are easy to resolve, and pretty cheap (unless you just take a chance, that is)

Welcome to the forum Charlie, glad you're enjoying the bike. Most of us on here buy our manual cct's from an engineer over your way, they're quality and only about 50 euro posted over here. Rider on a Storm i think it is.

:) Thanks guys, I'll put up a few pics as soon as I get a chance. I am changing the fork seals and headstock bearings at the moment and going to give "her" a good service before I do a lot of riding. I like to know that everything is 100% on a bike that I have just bought. Its got Remus cans so even just listening to it ticking over in the garage
does the heart good. I am not allowed to PM yet and I was wondering if someone could tell me how to contact "rider on a storm", I believe he is also from Ireland.
Looking forward to a few good long trips when I get it sorted.
Just seen on news that an elderly couple were killed on their bike today, that's 4 in Ireland since last friday,
stay safe everyone and watch out for gobsh1ts, they are everywhere.

welcome.

When you have the forks out it would be good to put new fork springs in and thicker oil. the front end is badly under sprung, and these mods are one of the best changes you can make
