Hi Folks,
Ive been havin a look & gettin some info from here, so thought it high time to join & say hello, Sorry bout the user name, but tis what I use elsewhere & handier to remember
Bought my VTR bout 2 months back. Shes a '98 w/about 16.5k on the clock. Shes a little rough round the edges, but only superficial.
Ive been hankering after a VTR for a good while now, so after some real nice bloke decided he didnt much like the look of my CB1000, I decided it was time to get one. Sold my GS Cafe Racer & went in search & found this one for a steal
She'll be kept in her current condition for now, till I get the CB back up to health & then all focus will turn to herself. Plans & parts are buildin in preparation.
Cheers,
Phil (from Sunny Ireland

)

Shes been down on the left side, which is why theres no transfer on the fairing.

That's not a circular patio thingy, just the first example I've seen yet of a Firestorm sundial
Mind you I saw a Storm at the last meetup that looked like it had a gnomon.
I won't say who it was....

The right hand fairing was replaced & just cheaply sprayed over. But I dont plan to keep the fairing anyhow, got a fair bit of work to do to her, but mostly superficial. Motor is a peach, bit jumpy on the clutch thou' & was reading up here on the CCTs here last night & has me thinkin alright. Is manual the way to go or is there a good auto replacement?
As for the sundial, I find nothing works as well as a Honda

Manuals are the way to go m8. Oh and i think you'll need some bar end weights If you intend hanging on to er

Yeah she vibrates thru the bars like mad alrite. Took her for a proper spin w/the lads (Blades & Gixers), on 'Irish' back roads, Suspension & brakes require upgrading!!!

Yes those are the areas where mr Honda saved a few pennies
But the good news is that there are easy and cheep solutions that will make it a serious player when you get out on real roads.
Have a look at my post on caliper upgrades in the workshop section for some ideas on brakes for about £60, and a set of springs and new oil will fix the front for £100. Then put a spacer under the rear shock and when that becomes too slow, then get a new rear shock, or fit a softer spring

Cheers lad,
Ill have a gawk. For now Ill get braided lines for sure. Been mullin over a set of USDs for her & maybe a progressive rear shock or a cheap e-bay find.
