I don't mind letting people know, and I always like to know myself but I don't think it should be mandatory. Don't even know if that would be allowed as it's personal information and as soon as you start down that path you open up a can of worms with responsibilities and legal stuff for the forum admin etc.

I'm sure there's a mod that would allow us to make the location mandatory but who's to say that anyone would put anything truthful in there?

Had a look and the only other person in the bed was Mrs McQ........and although she was on the internet as well [what does that say about the state of my marrage!] she claims not to be logged on to this Forum as "simo".

Clearly she could be lying [like when I ask if those are new shoes, and she says "no, I have had them for years"!] so can some one check to see if simo is registered on the same IP address and AMCQ46?

Can't see why we'd make it compulsory, although when people ask for help it makes a difference as to an offer to pop round and assist.

But then you've only got to ask; there's bound to be someone whose mum was posted there in the war, lived there as a child, went to school just round the corner or stalked a pop star nearby.
