Yes, mental from what I can see in the news. Was living in Handsworth when the 1st riots kicked off all the years ago, but fortunately now live outside the M42 so all safe here.

Hope they don't waste petrol, that's my job

Nothing seems to be happening in Leeds, or nothing I have heard about in Leeds yet...

These guys are absolute scum just using any excuse to steal some free sh1t.

The majority just have too much time on their hands and are probably very bored. Quitting the drugs and getting a job would probably help.

What gets me is, if they smash up all their local shops, what about when they want a pint of milk?

Then again, the above thought requires logic, which seems to be lacking amongst these buffoons.

A few tactically positioned police snipers would be a good deterrent.

Bring back National Service, corporal punishment in schools, hair shirts & hanging!

I expect that when the weather turns, bit of rain drop in temp, there will be a drop in activity as it will be to cold to go out looting. Most of them will go back to the festering bedrooms they inhabit & break out the xbox, PS or fiddler or whatever.

It's all baldrocks with all these knobs on the news going on about ''disaffected youth'' the recession, bad relations with plod et all. when really it's a load of muppets after nicking a few things.

I work for a local council & go into some real sh1t holes that people call home, a large % of whom are just dole scroungers, allkies or smak heads, sometimes all three! Yet they all have BIGGER newer plasma tv's than me! 8O

Rant over.

Mac

Maybe on reflection National Service isn't such a good idea, teaching them to shoot & blow things up ect.

Still all these arrests being made, think of all the paperwork, unpaid fines ect. They won't get locked up no room in the jails is there.

This is what I have been saying all yesterday. I grew up in Northern Ireland where this sh1t was an almost daily event. The difference is in the police though. Back home the police went in and cracked heads. Over here they are too scared to get stuck in because they rely on popularity and public opinion rather than not caring what the public think.

The police over here are not liked over here as much as they are hated back home but at least back home they commanded respect. The police would beat the sh1t out of you if you got caught behind the line.

Send in the water cannons and plastic bullets and stamp on the nonesense hard and fast. Put the fear of god into the kids out looting. The police are not employed to be friends with their comunity. They are there to do a job and they cant do that by being friends with everyone. They do it by commanding authority.

No one bats an eye when its dealt with swiftly and with force in Belfast. Whats the difference between there and whats been going on in London?

Oh thats right. At least in Belfast we didnt loot shops and burn them down.

it as real sign of the times, and all the comments above echo my thoughts..............if we carry on down this road we are heading for oblivion!

- the freeloading generation just looking for an excuse to help them selves
- no respect for the police or their own community
- the police afraid to take control as a) it breaches their health & safety training, b) they will get sued for infriging the human rights of the protestors.
- the looters have nothing to loose, as they already have a criminal record, they dont have / want a job. They will get caught on CCTV, but dont care, as the jails are full and some lawyer will show how it is the states fault for ignoring them, and jail is like a hotel anyway, so nicer than home and all their mates are there with them!. They just want the free TV and a good night wrecking the community their grand parents helped to build.
- kids under 10 getting involved..........its a feral generation with no parental control..........we pay the price for 2 or 3 generations of freeloaders & Nanny state laws.

To have control there needs to be respect, and to get that we need fear & reward. there is no fear, only rewards [and they expect the reward as part of their human rights !!!!!!].........we need to get back to some short sharp shock......National Service and Corpral Punishment.

makes my blood boil.........as Pinky says, if this was NI, the police would go in hard, but also the terrorists would stamp out any looting or individuals trying to make personal gain............REAL FEAR!.............same as in the bad old days in London with the Kray Brothers, they wouldnt tolerate the comunity being disrespected.
