fan assisted airbox

Post by ChrisC »

just been reading a topic on the airbox, got me thinking about whether anyone has fitted an small 12v electric fan to the air intake ,and if they have what where the effects on the running of the engine? i realise it would cause air turbulance, and possibly an small increase in pressure within the airbox, but just wondering would there be anything gained by doing this. I sincerely doubt it will make the slightest bit of difference mate.

Try taking off your air box lid, rev the crap out of your engine and put your hand over one of the trumpets...it sucks so much air in, it is hard to lift off your hand. Now multiply that by both cylinders and with the air box lid on they will be sucking so much through that front snorkel.

A 12v fan would just spin with the force of the air being sucked in and probably cause a positive voltage to be generated and charge your battery a bit :D
