Hello,

Picked up my FS at the weekend and took it out for an hr or two on Sunday... LOVE IT, what a cool bike!

Felt I got to know it and enjoy it far quicker than other bikes I've had. Iv'e been totally hooked on the R6 I had for fun and the Blade for presence... but this has 'both' in a different kind of way...Love the sound.

Totally underrated

Got to learn some mechanics as I need to do the CCT and swap the clutch/break lever for short adustable ones. I am totally great at dropping spanners and loosing nuts n bolts.... But, I'm sure I can find the info I need here.

Anyway.. Hi

Jo

Humm how do I up a piccie?

Hello Jo, welcome to the club. If you need any help I am in Hertford. Gilson lives up by Puckeridge, but he originates from the valleys and should therefore be viewed with suspicion!!!!!
Enjoy the bike, they are probably the most bangs to your buck you will find.

yup, a very underrated bike, and with some choice changes it will be even better.

the Blade and the R6 have it beaten on many levels, and more so on the track , But the Storm is so good in the real world and has such character it shines through.

as for dropping spanners, we try and hold some workshop days in various parts of the country so new owners can have a go at some of the key jobs under the watchfull eyes of people who have done it before..... that is a good way to get some confidence.
Has been a couple in Kent, one in Midlands and a bit of a go to have one in yorkshire, and next year we will try and do some more, either in same venues or anywhere else we can find a garage big enough.

Hi AMCQ46

"so good in the real world"

Agree. We have a double S bend on a hill with shot road surafce and it didn't even seem to notice.

Workshops sound great... member on here recommended me this site and happen also mentioned them. I'll be sure to try and fit one in.

Thanks

I'd just like to state for the record. Its all my fault! I know Jo from another forum and have been on a ride out with her when she owned the blade. Recently she's been asking about the Storm so I tried to explain how much fun they are to ride. I was honest in saying that some people dont like the switch from the IL4 onto the V Twin. Just the other day I got a mail saying how much she loved the bike.

Phew! The alternative would have been so much uglier. I'm not sure how I would have handled a mail telling me she hated the thing. 8O

On a serious note though. Job well done and I do hope you enjoy it as much as many of the owners do. Many of the guys here have had their bikes for years and most of the rest intend to keep theirs for years.

It really is a chalk and cheese bike. Those that have never ridden the storm look at the figures, oh its not fast for a thou, the SV, SP, Tl is all faster, whats the point? Then those that do bite the bullet and have a go on one just fall in love with its charm. I'm glad Jo is the latter.
