Re: Shim kits
9.48mm you want m8.
have a look at these - if you cba importing them theyre half the price of anywhere in uk.
http://amazcheapastore.com/21/hot-cams- ... shim02.htm
or http://www.motosport.com/atv/HOTCAMS-VA ... -KIT?ride=
the hotcams kit is like 75 - 90 quids which seems like a lot for a load of shim sizes you will probably never use... but when you consider a dealer will charge you over £300 to do the clearances it sort of makes sense... you'll never have to buy them again lol.
plus it means you get the job done in half a day, rather than stripping the bike, measuring the clerances, removing the shim & working out the new size then ordering and waiting, then refitting....
wiseco also do a similar kit for about the same £.
you could ask around local engine rebuilders & dealers to see if they have shims in stock... 99% of the time they will be in the size range 1.60 to 1.90mm

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: Shim kits
dont forget to get yourself a magnet on a stick to lift the buckets off with the shim stuck to it.
and get some medium strength threadlock for the cam top bearing casting and camchain guide bolts.
(and remember to pack the camchain tunnel with bogroll!)
