Milton Keynes biker banned for 150mph speeding web film

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-be ... s-15572769
A motorcyclist who filmed himself speeding at 150mph and put the footage on the internet has been sentenced to 51 weeks jail, suspended for two years.

Robert Mark Owens, 48, of Whaddon Way, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, admitted dangerous driving at Aylesbury Crown Court and was banned for five years.

He used a helmet-mounted camera to record himself on four occasions in April 2011.

Some of the footage was uploaded on to the social networking site YouTube.

The videos, filmed in Milton Keynes and Bletchley, showed Owens doing wheelies, riding on footpaths and weaving in and out of traffic.

He was arrested after police received an anonymous call about the videos.

In addition to the ban and suspended sentence Owens was told at the court sitting in Amersham that he must complete 150 hours community work, his bike has been confiscated and he has been given 10 points on his licence.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Yes but this will also go for young lads that do this sort of thing in cars. But it seems to always be a motorcyclist that is used as a scape goat . :Argue:

why would you post a video of yourself doing stuff like that on youtube? talk about doing the police's work for them, none of us are whiter than white and most of us will have done the things in the videos at some point or another so cant really sit in judgement on what he did, I think a more appropriate sentence for the stupidity of posting it up for the world to see would have been castration, stop the idiot reproducing.

or keep voting idiots in so they waste the public purse and have to make cuts.
eventually there will be no plod left
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I fancy a helmet cam, I want to put some vids on youtube

Got some great areas around Leeds for pulling wheelies and thrashing the bike

I'll let you know when I have posted them
