Hello - new stormer!

Post by stormnige »

Just purchased a 2005 firestorm for my second bike (had Honda Hornet before, so quite a change!) I have to say I am loving every second on it. It is Blue and in original condition apart from scottoiler, double bubble screen and rear hugger. The sound is awesome!! I'm still getting used to the power delivery compared with a four cylinder machine and the perception of speed is very different. I have realised this when having to brake to a stop, thinking I am doing 40 and in fact I have been traveling at 70ish. The brakes feel very different to my previous bike also as i am used to very sharp brakes and having to feather the lever, but this bike seems alot more progressive in the early stages and I'm still concious of grabbing a handfull and locking the wheels up?? I've checked all fluids and pad wear and all looks in order. Anyway I am definately a V twin convert and think the firestorm looks amazing!

Welcome to the forum, have a good read through the posts in the workshop section and make sure the preventative maintenance have been done.
Other than that enjoy the Storm and bask in the knowledge that you own a bike in the premier league of colour schemes (it's not Teal is it?).

It is Blue and in original condition
Greetings bad luck with the colour. R157 is where it's at , don't do anything else to your new Storm especially the CCTs as we've had so amy new members of late we need all the spare parts we can scrounge.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

All this talk about CCTs is worrying......joking aside! What would be the first signs of the CCT failing? and if it does fail will it damage the engine etc?
