Hello from kent area anyone else 98 vtr in silver

Post by vtrnewb90 »

Hi everybody

My names Nathan bought my vtr1000f about 3 months ago love this website, a wealth of information. I came across a post on here about the cam chain tensioners being terribly made. So I was wondering if anyone in the Kent area are making or have made manuals one, that they could supply and fit obviously I would pay, just want to get these ticking time bombs of my bike.

I no it's a lot to ask on my first post so please be gentle if your going to tear me a new one, but from what I have been reading I want to get the tensioners replaced before the spring goes ping.

Any help appreciated.

That's fantastic music to my ears if they can help that would be greatly appreciated. I would be much happier paying someone that has changed the tensioners to manual ones on the vtr1000f a few times than go to Honda dealer.

Greetings - have a search for Essex boy Bazza or krieger who'll help sort you out for CCTs - and for fitting 'em Storm guru Tony (nr Brands Hatch) will either help watch over your shoulder or for mountains of mince pies and all the port he can drink do em for ya

Another job that likely need doing is upgrading tour R/R if you have an early unfinned version, plus inspect and grease up the shock/swing arm linkages. With all those sorted you should have a trouble free Storm ready for the spring and many happy miles.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Ahhh a fellow Kent!

Get 'em changed pronto Dude!

I have Bazza converts fitted to mine top quality highly recommended.

Drop him a line via PM as to cost & the exchange rate as he is from Essex! ( But a nice bloke despite this! )

Tony Mons is the man for advice re the swap, although there is a very good 'How To Guide' in the work shop section, follow that & NOT the Haynes manual if you have one as bits of it are wrong!

Whereabouts in Kent are you?

welcome to the club. tony will sort you out...
