While visiting a mate on a sheep station in out back Australia recently, I assisted him rounding up and neutering the young rams of no value. I was aghast when instead of removing their nuts with a sharp knife, he picked up two house bricks and crushed them with one mighty swing. I looked at him and said, "dosn't that hurt". To which he replied, "too right, if you get your thumbs in the way".
