As you know I'm a swede and I dont have a bike yet.
I'm thinking of buying a bike on ebay and import it to sweden since they are a little cheaper in the UK.
Does anyone know what I have to do at your end besides buying the bike. Paperwork and so on...

Works either way - Unless the bike is a complete & utter bargain, the costs in fuel, transport & hassle with necessary paperwork make a grey import not be as cheap as envisaged.

I posted the link as it seems bargain VTRs can be had in your country, and at a price someone from the UK is willing to travel to Sweden to collect, albeit with a touring holiday to boot.

See your point but there's a couple of bikes that I've found that cost around £1500 (thats about 16000sek). In sweden the "same" bikes go for around 25000- 30000sek so...

Anyways, the bike in that thread is reg in the UK and he wants to bring it from sweden. I suppose it is a import from the UK originally.
I want to buy a bike thats IN the UK and is a "british" bike and then bring that to Sweden.
There is a difference in that, dont you think.

Many moons ago I chatted to Danes at Assen who really valued their bikes as they were horrendously taxed. Not sure what Sweden's import tax would be but this might be of interest:

You might have to possibly factor the cost in getting a KM speedo/(cheaper to get an overlay if that's acceptable)

And depending on the seller if a business may include VAT (@20%)
