hi folks
well my new year resolution was to use my storm as much as possible this year. i didnt renew my car insurance to make sure i stuck it it.
well was doing good until 12 days in when i entered a roundabout and a car pulled out from the left causing me to brake heavy and swerve but wet road caused me to drop the bike and slide about 20ft on my belly. no serious injurys just impact pain and bruising good job i had the rite gear on. anyway bike seems fecked all left side smashed. have wait for insurance decide weather rite off or not.
at the accident a crash seen """""EXPERT""""" bobby as he described himself said because there was no collision it must be my own fault for falling off because i breaked to heavy. :confused and 8O i said if i hadnt breaked i would of hit him and could be dead now....my insurance "bennets" said ignore what the bobby said because if the car hadnt pulled out i wouldnt have break and there would be no accident. therefore its not my fault.
i wander how many other accidents he's got wrong

sorry to hear your news fella, in my expierence most coppers seem to side with car/van drivers, i got knocked off by a van driver who decided to turn right without indicating and the police tried to do me for riding without due care and attention(they dropped the case 4 days before court appearance). i could have avoided the accident if the van driver had followed the highway code......grrrrr.
the bit i hate is when the copper tries to be your friend but really he wants to f**k you over....... :x
glad to hear your ok tho buddy.

sorry to hear about your misfortune mate.

what you were told is bullshit. he should know better than to comment at the scene.
you need to speak to a specialist bike solicitor ASAP.

i recommend you use http://www.sorrymate.com as they specialise in non impact offs.
they will arrange an engineer to assess the bike, sort a hire bike, compy etc and make sure the driver gets to know big leroy intimately.

another good firm is http://www.whitedalton.co.uk

do this NOW mate, they both operate 247

let us know how you get on.
if you have no joy with sorrymate (ex sponsor of jenny teethmouth in bsb & now sponsor loris bazz) let me know as i have the owner fergus's moby.

chin up feller. couldve been worse. see it as a streetfighter opportunity

Sorry to hear you went down, mate, but good you're ok.

I have some spares, a complete LH clip on and clutch lever/switchgear assy, alternator, and its cover. Also a footrest/gearchange assy, but no plastics.

i just remembered what my solicetor told me, it's not the police's job to decide whose at fault. they are there to collect evidence and present it to the relavent people, i.e the cps if needs be, which would mean he had no right saying what he said, i'm only repeating what my solicetor has told me regarding my accident mind you.
good luck buddy
and from what you have said, the driver has failed to observe the speed you are travelling at and the distance you are from hin, there for he is in the wrong and you did the best you could to avoid a collision.......

Sorry to hear of your off, was in a very similar situation myself two years ago. Witnesses are the key...I didnt have any and the woman a week later claimed it was my fault. Went 50-50 in the end due to that. Get a copy of the police report soon as, mine was missing info but I didn't realise until a lot later which would have swung it my way. As mentioned previously the police will treat it as your fault unless you push them

Sorry bout the off, even if she is an insurance write off, they will give you the option to buy her back. Could be worth it if only cosmetics, sure who needs plastic anyway
