Hello just wanted to say hi I,ve just bought my first Firestorm it,s a 1999 6800 miles in mint condition so I,ll probably be asking a lot of questions about all sorts.
Never had a v twin mostly 600,s Yamaha Fazer 600,Suzuki Gsxr600,Yamaha Yzf600r,and a Honda Fmx 650 and a brief encounter with a Gsxr 1000 which I hated, too fast, too much temptation to go faster

Greetings and well done on acquiring a tasty red un!

Re, CCTs: search the forums for Bazza or Krieger on sourcing replacement manuals. Check the workshop knowledgeable section for the guide on how to DIY, and for the handy Honda service manual downloadable PDF. Depending where you are located, we are having a workshop day in Essex at Easter if you're interested. Edit (Oops - A bit far from N Ireland...._

Hi mate, welcome to the group. I bought my first vtr in December. After six bikes this is where I want to be. Do the cct's, mine was another minter. 51 plate 11k miles, not a wet day experienced. You can adjust your idle speed easy enough, mine at about 1200 , they don't like the cold much, so I try and get a few miles in to warm her up. Perfect manners on handling, motorway blasts are a doddle, the riding position is so perfect I get zero wind blast, so three digits can feel like 60 mph. So the tank range is poor, but I stop every hour or so anyway. Enjoy the forum. Tim

nice bike pal
i see you got the fastest colour

if its your 1st twin just be carefull on the gearing down when stopping cos from 100 to 0 in 2nds but the back end dont half bounce about. same on roundabouts and bends dont gear down at to high of a speed very torquey.
obvious things really but a learning curve i learned very quickly

ENJOY

because it looks slightly lower than the left one, if you go by the level of the numberplate, you see this on a few storms.....

Well good news and bad news just put 7000 miles on the clock and the front cct has died it seems, its,s even better when i,ve just bought two Ape cct,s 3 days later they arrived did,nt think they,d go that fast on such a low milage.
Dunno the damage yet will wait for my local bike engineer to have a look and hope it,s not too serious probably valves just crossing fingers now. :(
I,m absolutly gutted.
