thinking of parting with my storm.....

right, i havent decided 100% yet and i know i may regret this....
havent put this in the sales bit cos im just throwing it out there & gauge comments...
but im considering letting my white storm go.
reasons are thus - it needs tlc and i really havent got the time ot £ atm to do it.
plus im still waiting on a cheque for my binnage and will need £ for italy in a few weeks.
so, good bits.... 19L tank, no dents / cracks in bodywork, harris rear sets, lightened flywheel, +4 advancer, ported heads, those very special billet cams, laser cans (loud), manual cct's of course, later r/r, fabbri screen, yacugar prog rear shock, prog front end, modded valves - handles (and stops) better than an sp!! etc etc
this is a Very fast firestorm! eats blades for breakfast lol! also extremely eyecatching when it's clean.
currently wearing skidmarx lowers but also have a pyramid belly & fittings but needs painting to match the rest (have got paint)
also have full race fibreglass bodywork, fairings, screen, single seat etc (used to be stormin ben's)
bad bits.
chain broke & cracked the hugger but is repairable.
also cracked undertray
also damaged gearbox sprocket mounts - this has been repaired enough that i put another 5k on the bike with no faults.
crouton all else wrong with it apart from i robbed the gbox sprockt off it, needs refitting,
i swore i would never part with this bike as it's been a labour of love but hey ho, needs must eh....
appreciate your comments, however negative.
someone pls persuade me not to do this!
btw if it does go i will be keeping the VTR plate for the sp2 so it would be back on ZB51

Dont do it benny
All that hard work you have put into it and you push it to one side when the new toy arrived poor storm left sulking in the corner and to make it worse it's now going to be butchered and sold at market

((
You know you be better of keeping it and working on it on a rainy day when you get your pension and free bus pass
.
It will stop you going insane
Dibs on the ignition advancer and the
19l tank

What price would that lot be

Think about it carefully mate. The Storm has been a labour of love and a test bed for a number of mods, if you sell it in one piece you will miss it and you know it. If you break it, again you have to dismantle something you have worked so hard to gather together.
Stick it at the back of the garage until you get some time to play again. Also think about how much fun you have tucking up late model sports bikes on it. Do it on the SP & the effect is negated by the bike. Good luck with a difficult decision.

Mate you've just bought an SP2 haven't you?? I also love my storm but I would trade it in at the drop of a hat for an SP2!
You've obviously made your mind up bud so just go with your gut !
When you feel like your missing it go for a ride on the SP LOL

Martin, that a tough choice, but here my words of little wisdom!
If its down to ££££ get a loan to cover the Italy trip, but if you are getting bored with the project it must be time to move on.
Trouble with having a few bikes is finding time to ride and fettle them all, having just 1 will save the dilemma every time you go to the garage.

Keep it Dude.
You know you will regret it, as soon as you wave it goodbye with the cash in your hand but a strangers butt on the saddle. I can see you now, tears streaming down your cheeks, running after him but struggling to keep up as he rides into the sunset, you fall to your knees, arms raised to the heavens screaming
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Beg borrow or steal the cash for Italy.
Send the Mrs out to earn a bit ''extra''
Raid the parts bin in the shed & hit sales & wants/e-bay/gumtree.
Keep it Dude you know you want to.
2nd dibs on the Rearsets,
1st dibs on the Shock.

Mate you can have my complete original 2000 model engine, if it helps you keep the storm?
its undamaged just the crank is going / knocking that's why i swapped engines, clutch has just been checked too and that had plenty left in it
collect it when ever you want it free of charge if you can use it, you've been more than helpful in the past etc

thats the problem - it's been at the back of the garage since october and ive dont crouton all to it apart from nick bits off it.
i keep saying ah i can get another minter for 2k but then id want the flywheel doing and id never get them cams again....
decisions.
already begged stealed and borrowed to get the sp2 lol
and already had a major clear out in the garage so isnt much left to punt on.
will be badgering solicitor every day for the next few weeks over this fkin cheque.... if they make an offer & you accept, it should be in the bank same week imo.
not missing the italy trip, especially on the new bike.
if i have to sell the storm then so be it.
seb i may well take you up on that bud. as i say its just sat there atm and all my dosh goes on fuel on the sp lol.
i blame this crap job ive got now - its £150 a week down on the last shower of c_nts but on the upside looks like ive got something better lined up so we'll see
i'd much rather keep it tbh.

Ok......don`t do it Benny
There....always happy to help
You WILL regret it and you know it. Start hassling the solicitor and get him to work for his money.

I don't know you fella but I'd like to own your Storm. The way you describe it makes it sound like it would be a real gut wrench to part with it. That alone would normally mean keep it.......but? You have other plans and the sheer fact that you are even thinking of selling something to fund it means that you've actually made the difficult decision. Sell your bike man and rest in the knowledge about 2 facts.
Firstly, make sure it goes to a Storm enthusiast so you know its as appreciated as much as you have.
Secondly and most importantly, the experience you've gained doing up this one will not go to waste. You probably will come back to the fold and the law states that something better is just round the corner. Sell it mate
